How to Farm Gear Score in AION 2: A 1,000 to 2,100 Route
Why Gear Score gates your AION 2 endgame
In early AION 2 endgame, Gear Score (GS, also called Item Level) decides whether you can enter the next piece of content. Combat Power (CP) is a separate rating of character strength. CP tuning can wait: first you need to clear the next GS requirement.
The global release went live on October 5, 2026, and the level cap is 45. That is where the GS chase begins. The Abyss needs level 45 and 1,000 GS, and after that player reports point to 1,400 and 2,100 as the numbers that matter most.
Below is the route from 1,000 to 2,100 GS, stage by stage. The thresholds and bonus values come from community reports rather than the developer, and patches can change them, so check them in game.
Where your GS comes from
GS is not just the item level printed on your gear. Several side systems add to it, and closing the last missing points through them is often cheaper than paying for another round of enhancement.

According to player reports, the contribution looks like this.
Source | GS gain |
|---|---|
Gear enhancement | +1 per level |
Manastone line, Gray / Green / Blue / Yellow | +1 / +2 / +3 / +4 |
Daevanion Point | +1 |
Arcana card, Gray / Green / Blue / Unique | +20 / +40 / +60 / +80 |
The practical rule: up to 2,100 you need the number, not perfect stats. Save fine-tuning of rolls and expensive stones for later.
GS breakpoints and what they unlock
Not every requirement matters equally. Player reports describe it like this: 1,000 GS opens the Abyss story, 1,400 opens 2-star Conquest, 1,600 opens Transcendence Stage 1, 1,900 opens Stage 2, 2,000 opens a key step of the Hard Ascension Trial, and 2,100 opens 3-star Conquest.

At 1,400 GS you get Vakron Sky Island and Urugugu Canyon, which players say drop level 70 gear. At 2,100 GS, Fire Temple and Ferocious Horn Den become available with item level 86 gear. Transcendence is seasonal 5-player content that went live in the global version with Season 1 on September 30.
The other marks are checkpoints: each one gives you a new GS source and you keep going.
From 1,000 to 1,400: do not feed temporary gear
You do not need to farm for 1,000 GS: the story, replaced items and side quests get you there on their own. Taking your weapon to +3-5 is enough, since the rest will be swapped soon.

If you are slightly short of 1,000, equip the better pieces from your bag, spend your Daevanion Points, add cheap Manastones and enhance one or two items.
Next comes the cheapest stretch of the route. Clear the leftover side content after level 45 first, and only then spend Odyle Energy, enhancement stones and Kinah. Player guides list the following:
sealed dungeons and strongholds (reportedly including the opposite faction's map, reached through the Space-Time Rift);
remaining regional quests and post-45 quest equipment rewards;
Abyss Feathers for the Monolith;
the Hugo quest chain that rewards a second bracelet.
These activities give Daevanion Points and materials, and every spent point is 1 GS. Handle the Belt and Amulet separately: per player reports, you take the Green version to +10, unequip it from every preset, use Substance Morph to turn it Blue, then Unique. Once it is Unique, stop investing for now.
Upgrade priority: Belt and Amulet, the Unique bracelet, the Unique Guard, Daevanion Points, cheap Manastones, your main weapon, and only then everything else. Enhancement is safe up to +10; above that a success chance applies, and a failure costs materials and Kinah but does not destroy the item. Lesser Manastones are enough, Intermediate ones if needed, and the best ones belong on gear you will keep.
Abyss Feathers and the Monolith add GS, but the Abyss is an open-PvP zone, and the death penalty in the global version is worth checking in game.
Before 1,400 it is better to hoard Odyle. Dungeon Cubes spend it, and their rewards get replaced quickly by level 70 gear. A quest usually only needs the dungeon cleared, not the Cube opened. A Cube costs 40 Odyle, which regenerates 15 per 3 hours, capped at 560 for free players and 840 with Membership.
From 1,400 to 1,900: Conquest and your first Arcana cards
At 1,400 GS start with Vakron Sky Island: players say its loot turns into armor upgrades most easily. Urugugu Canyon is for weapons and accessories. Once around six or seven useful pieces are covered, shift part of your Odyle to the second dungeon.

If you have an Exploration reward that lets you pick a piece, players advise against using it right away. Farm first, since the piece may drop on its own. Keep the selector for the slot that refuses to drop.
At 1,600 GS Transcendence Stage 1 opens. Arcana Cards give the fastest gain here: even a Gray card adds 20 GS, and per player reports there are five slots, so roughly +100 GS almost immediately. Run both Deus Research Base and Shattered Arkanis, since their card pools differ and one dungeon may leave slots empty. Equip the best rarity you have and ignore sets and skills for now.
Between 1,600 and 1,900 most of your time goes into filling empty level 70 slots. Take useful pieces to +10, add Lesser or Intermediate Manastones and keep collecting Daevanion Points, which players say Shugo and Nightmare provide. If you are stuck, go slot by slot: old armor, empty Arcana slots, unenhanced gear, pieces without stones, unspent points.
From 1,900 to 2,000: Blue cards and the Chalice of Vigor
At 1,900 GS Transcendence Stage 2 opens. The goal changes: replace Gray and Green cards with Blue ones. Swapping one Gray card for a Blue one is +40 GS, faster than a pile of small enhancements. Run both dungeons again and do not chase perfect skills.
Then look at your weakest slot. If armor is fine but accessories are not, spend more Odyle on Urugugu Canyon; if armor is lacking, go back to Vakron Sky Island. If the gear is decent but GS is short, push Arcana, Daevanion, enhancement and Manastones.
At 2,000 GS, players describe a route to a Unique Chalice of Vigor through the Hard Ascension Trial. A Unique Arcana card gives 80 GS, and the item is crafted from five Mysterious Crystals: three from season rewards, one from the season shop and one from Arcana extraction. Exact counts may vary, so confirm them in game. Pick just one extra skill, and make it an important one for your class.
From 2,000 to 2,100 and beyond
There is no hidden system here, you just finish the job: replace the remaining weak gear, keep hunting Blue cards, equip the Chalice, take useful pieces to +10, spend all Daevanion Points and top up Manastones. If you are five points short of a threshold, using a less efficient source to cross it is fine.
At 2,100 GS Fire Temple and Ferocious Horn Den open. If your weapon and accessories are weak, start with Fire Temple; if armor and Guard are, start with Ferocious Horn Den. From here, look at item quality as well as the number. Better Soul Binding and Amplification can wait, and Season 1 in the global version has no Heroic items: the top grade is Unique.
A quick cheat sheet:
Below 1,000. Story, better gear from your bag, Daevanion, cheap Manastones.
1,000-1,400. Side content, Belt and Amulet, Abyss Feathers, Odyle saved.
1,400-1,600. 2-star Conquest, starting with Vakron Sky Island.
1,600-1,900. Transcendence Stage 1, fill every Arcana slot.
1,900-2,000. Stage 2, Blue cards.
2,000-2,100. Chalice of Vigor, final cleanup of every source.
From 2,100. 3-star Conquest.
