Aion 2 Leveling Route to Level 45: Ascensions, Odyle, Dungeons

What You Need to Know First

The Global level cap in Aion 2 is 45, confirmed by NCSOFT during the September 4 livestream. Level 50 exists only in the Korean and Taiwanese versions, and no date has been announced for Global. The game went live on October 5, 2026, runs on PC (Steam and PURPLE) and is free-to-play.

Leveling is linear. The main path follows the Episode Quests, marked yellow on the map. Everything else is there for permanent character growth rather than XP, and most of it can wait until you hit the cap.

Plan for about 3-4 hours at best with an optimized run. A first playthrough with plenty of exploring and side content takes noticeably longer, and players report anywhere from 10 to 25 hours.

The Leveling Route by Level

This is the route players most often recommend for a fast climb. Dungeon levels are approximate: the Episode Quests lead you to them, so treat the numbers as guideposts rather than hard gates.

Second Ascension

Everything between those stops is more yellow quests. You do not need to grind regular mobs for XP or clear every side quest on the way.

Ascensions and Daeva Wings

An Ascension is a progression checkpoint tied to the Episode Quest line. There are three of them up to the cap, at levels 22, 32 and 45. The quests are The One Who Hears the Voice, The One Who Dreams and The One Who Witnesses the Nightmare, and each one rewards better Daeva Wings: Intermediate, Superior and Ultimate.

Before each Ascension you must fill the Ascension Gauge to 100%. It fills from Episode Quests, Regional Quests, the Ascension quests themselves, Sealed Dungeons and Strongholds. Players report that following only the main line leaves the gauge short when the quest appears, and a handful of side activities finishes the job.

A simple order for topping it up:

  • Regional Quests that reward accessories first, since those help with Gear Score later;

  • then Sealed Dungeons and Strongholds that are close to your route.

You also get a first, basic pair of wings early on. The Ascension that sits beyond the level 45 cap does not matter in Global yet.

Odyle Energy and Dungeon Rewards

In an expedition dungeon the reward sits in a cube, and opening it costs Odyle Energy. Clearing a dungeon and claiming its rewards are two separate steps, and the resource between them is limited.

  • Regeneration: 15 per 3 hours, which is 120 a day and 840 a week.

  • Cap: 560 without Membership, 840 with it.

  • A standard cube costs about 40.

Regeneration stops at the cap, and anything that would overflow is lost. The free pool of 560 fills in roughly five days, so saving longer than that gains you nothing.

Some players suggest leaving cubes unopened before level 45 and saving Odyle for max-level expeditions, where the rewards matter more for gearing. The logic holds, but keep the cap in mind: once the pool is full, saving turns into waste. If you are already at the limit, opening a cube beats watching energy evaporate.

All Global servers reset daily at 7:00 AM UTC and weekly on Wednesday at 7:00 AM UTC. Membership (about $14.99 for 30 days, bound to a server) raises the Odyle cap and unlocks Market buying and the Kina-Quna exchange.

What to Do on the Way and What to Postpone

The main rule is to avoid investing in anything you will replace soon. Episode Quests hand out new gear that adds up to sets, and side quests reward accessories, so every slot fills up without spending a coin.

  • Gear. Do not burn enhancement materials on items you will swap within a few levels.

  • Feathers. These collectibles give permanent growth materials, but chasing every one is not worth it. Grab the ones near your path.

  • Daevanion. Players say the intro tutorial is enough before the cap. The deeper system matters later.

  • Stigmas. This is lasting combat power, unlike temporary gear, so upgrade them alongside your normal skills once the system opens up.

Postponing side content is not the same as skipping it. Regional Quests, Sealed Dungeons and Strongholds give permanent progress, and you will want it after level 45.

Expeditions on the Way to 45

Expeditions are Aion 2's standard five-player dungeons. According to players, the leveling versions are Exploration Expeditions and the harder max-level ones are Conquest Expeditions. The structure is similar: two minibosses and a final boss.

The Episode Quest sends you to Krao Cave, Urugugu Canyon and Fire Temple, so there is no skipping them. Replaying them for gear is pointless, since the rewards go out of date fast.

Hitting the cap is not the end of the content. At max level there is seasonal Transcendence content, five-player dungeons that started with Season 1 on September 30.

After Level 45: Gear Score and the Abyss

Once you hit the cap the question changes. XP is no longer the problem, but Gear Score, the overall measure of character strength, starts to block the Episode Quest. Equipment feeds it, and so do permanent systems like Daevanion.

According to players, Draupnir can be the first wall: you may arrive without enough Gear Score to enter. Grinding levels will not help, so go back to what you postponed:

  • Regional Quests, Sealed Dungeons and Strongholds;

  • Daevanion and Rune progress;

  • content on the opposing faction's continent.

After that the Episode Quest leads to the Abyss, a shared PvPvE zone where both factions share one map and PvP is always on. Most activities there award Abyss Points, the main PvP progression currency. Even if you play mostly PvE, it is worth a look, and players describe a unique weapon at the end of the line.

Space-Time Rifts

Part of your permanent progress sits on the enemy continent. Space-Time Rifts get you there, and they open from level 45.

There is no official Global timetable. Players observe a three-hour cycle anchored to UTC, with a short entry window reported as either 10 or 15 minutes. You can stay on the enemy continent for about an hour, and tickets can extend that.

  • Stay in peaceful mode to avoid PvP. Combat mode can only be changed in your own territory, with a delay of about 70 minutes.

  • Pick up the Regional Quest for the Rift beforehand so the trip is not wasted.

  • Keep away from enemy NPC guard camps: players report they kill very fast.

The same trip lets you clear Regional Quests, Sealed Dungeons and Strongholds that your own continent does not offer, which feeds straight into Gear Score.

Quick Leveling Checklist

  • Follow the yellow Episode Quests: they are the main route.

  • Do not open cubes carelessly, but do not let Odyle overflow either.

  • Fill the Ascension Gauge with accessory Regional Quests first, then nearby dungeons and Strongholds.

  • Do not farm leveling dungeons for gear.

  • Do not enhance temporary equipment.

  • Watch the Odyle cap: 560, or 840 with Membership.

  • After 45, return to postponed content as soon as Gear Score hits a requirement.
