Apex Legends Season 30: Marked and Split 2 overview
Apex Legends: Marked, the thirtieth season, changes the familiar journey from landing to the final fight. Bloodhound gains a new cloak, energy weapons receive regenerating reserves, and rare attachments now offer an advantage alongside a drawback. Your old equipment route and habit of firing continuously therefore deserve another look.
The season began on August 4, 2026; its second split started on September 15. This overview covers launch rules, midseason changes and official announcements through October 8. Core and Wildcard differences are identified separately: event powers should not be carried into your understanding of Ranked.
Start learning Marked with three exercises: test energy-weapon regeneration, compare attachments in the interface and walk through the new connections on World’s Edge. You can then understand why a familiar exchange or rotation now ends differently.
Dates, platforms and new characters
Marked’s headline character update is Bloodhound’s rework. Axle remains the latest added Legend; Marked focuses on reworking Bloodhound and existing weapons. An existing kit can require as much relearning as a new character: Beast of the Hunt no longer describes Bloodhound’s current ultimate.
The original Nintendo Switch stopped supporting the game on August 4. Switch 2 continues receiving seasons. Progress and purchases use the same EA account; remaining Switch currency is available on Switch 2, subject to regional expiry requirements. The Nintendo wallet does not transfer to other platforms. Play continues on PC and the other supported consoles.
The exact end date for the entire season is not separately confirmed in the announcements used here. November 3 appears in the Mixtape schedule and Blood Pact announcement; that alone does not establish when Marked ends. When planning rewards, check the timer for the particular pass or event.
Bloodhound: tracking and cloaking
Fresh trails help you read an enemy’s direction, and white ravens can be activated by looking at them. Additional position snapshots follow the initial scan. Treat a snapshot as information about a recent position, then check the angle again: opponents continue moving between updates.
Allfather’s Cloak places a device whose cloaking area lasts 8 seconds. Cloaked players gain 20% movement speed and threat vision. Any Legend entering its area receives the effect, including enemies. It makes detection harder without making a person completely invisible. Cloak persists for up to 12 seconds after leaving; firing, taking damage and most abilities interrupt it. Bloodhound’s own abilities can be used while remaining cloaked.
Hidden Sight links the ultimate to a Tactical refresh and a concealed scan pulse. Bird’s Eye sends ravens toward the two closest enemies from different squads. True Predator lets cloak return after firing temporarily interrupts it. Select an upgrade around the squad’s action sequence: locate, take position, then shoot.
The second split includes further adjustments: Ring damage no longer breaks cloak, visibility inside its area was reduced, and the scan gained an extra second. Snapshots became more frequent but fade sooner. That does not justify running across an unchecked open area: plan cover and the timing of your squad’s attack before placing the device.

Cloak changes visibility inside the area; opponents can enter it too.
Other Legend changes
Loba deploys her bracelet faster, and Black Market recovers in 120 seconds instead of 150. This helps reorganize the squad’s supplies without guaranteeing a safe escape from a room. Choose the bracelet’s destination first and check whether the team can continue moving with you.
Rampart sets up tougher cover faster, moves more actively with Sheila and gains Locked Hop-Up progress 50% faster. Use the early deployment window to prepare a firing line; the buff does not remove the risk of being flanked.
Valkyrie’s launch nerfs affect missiles, ultimate height and upgrades. Axle’s base Nitro Gate boost is shorter, and her drone now affects herself and teammates. Allies take no damage from it but are stunned and displaced. The second split further weakened the drone and removed the turn slow from Seer’s Tactical.
In September, Conduit received smoother Energy Barricade deployment and a choice between a repeated line and stronger jamming. Fuse now has Knuckle Jump in his base kit with reduced jump strength; his explosions were improved and upgrades rearranged. Catalyst can reinforce doors and relocate defenses more comfortably, but is no longer immune to another Catalyst’s abilities. Reread the upgrade tree before returning to a familiar Legend.
How energy weapons work now
Energy ammunition is no longer collected as separate stacks. The reserve belongs to the weapon and regenerates over time. Check it before sustained pressure: being able to replenish does not mean ammunition is available at every moment.
Weapon | Core stockpile in magazine equivalents |
|---|---|
Havoc | 3 |
Nemesis | 3 |
Devotion | 3 |
L-STAR | 4 |
RE-45 | 2 |
Volt | 2 |
Triple Take | 2 |
One magazine’s worth returns over 18 seconds. Increasing magazine size changes the stockpile capacity and number of regenerated rounds, but not that interval. Shooting and reloading pause regeneration. In Wildcard, the reserve holds one additional magazine and regenerating a magazine takes 12 seconds.
A useful sequence follows from this: after a short exchange, assess your reserve, decide whether the second weapon is needed and recover resources while repositioning. Avoid starting another burst just for a single hit if the squad will soon need a full attack. Two energy weapons require particularly careful monitoring of both reserves.
The HUD lets you display percentages or bullet counts. Use whichever you understand faster under fire. Check the loaded magazine separately from the overall reserve: the familiar interface number should inform a decision rather than create an impression of endless shooting.
Weapon balance, Care Packages and Hop-Ups
The G7 Scout returned to floor loot, while the 30-30 Repeater entered the Care Package with an upgraded version and Shattercaps for hip fire. Marked’s launch also weakened the Hemlok, Alternator, RE-45 and R-99. In particular, RE-45 base damage fell from 17 to 16. These are published balance changes, rather than unknown preview-build values.
The second split buffed the Triple Take, Bocek and Charge Rifle. For a returning player, testing the required fighting distance again is more useful than automatically retaining an old weapon pairing. Compare short-contact accuracy, reserve consumption and your ability to finish a fight after switching weapons.
The restricted rotation of gold weapons was removed. Accelerator changed how the relevant weapons earn ultimate charge; the Devotion’s Turbocharger requires more progress, while September lowered the Executioner unlock cost. In Core, Locked Hop-Ups activate through progression; Freestyle modes, including Wildcard and Mixtape, use their own fully equipped weapon rules. A Replicator is a separate supply decision: before leaving cover, decide which consumable you need and who will cover the approach.
Five Corrupted Attachments
Only one of these attachments can be equipped on a weapon. Choose it according to that gun’s job and the cost of its drawback. A large magazine may help finish an exchange, but a slower reload becomes a problem if another squad arrives immediately afterward.
Attachment | Benefit | Cost |
|---|---|---|
Tactical Laser | Faster reload | Worse ADS recoil control |
Rapid Sniper Stock | Faster fire rate, reload and handling | Smaller magazine |
Agile Standard Stock | Faster armed movement and ADS movement | Smaller magazine |
Overflowing Magazine | Larger magazine | Slower reload |
Headseeker Barrel | Higher headshot damage | Worse hip-fire accuracy |
The Tactical Laser retains purple-laser hip-fire accuracy, while Headseeker retains purple-barrel recoil control. The stocks retain the reload and handling improvements of their corresponding purple stocks. Judging them by a single large positive number is therefore insufficient.
September’s adjustment removed Agile Standard Stock movement-speed stacking with Maggie’s Warlord’s Ire and Gunrunning, and Gibraltar’s Fast Shotties. Avoid building around the old speed combination. Check final compatibility on the particular weapon’s card.

Rapid Sniper Stock: the English interface shows the cost of its benefits, explained in the table. Values in this image concern the displayed weapon.
World’s Edge: new locations and familiar names
The aurora-lit night sky accompanies route changes, rather than merely replacing the lighting. During early practice, choose one area, identify cover after landing and walk the exit toward its neighboring POI. The new map then becomes a set of verified transitions.
Area | What changed | What to check locally |
|---|---|---|
East Village | Replaces Climatizer and adds the Longhouse | Approaches and exits toward the Dam |
War Camp | Replaces Survey Camp | Firing angles around the central structure |
Tree Settlement | Replaces The Tree | Vertical connections and disengagement |
Sorting Factory | Returns in place of Lava Siphon | Tunnels, platforms and the Fragment connection |
Monument / Fragment | Construction Stacks return | Angles between floors and neighboring squads |
Landslide | Combined with Big Maude | Landing position and the following rotation |
Do not treat a returning location as an exact copy of its older version. Sorting Factory has new connections, and Big Maude’s former parking area has also changed. Once the opening fight is won, the next decision should concern your route rather than endless inspection of a familiar building.
Maps and Ranked by split
Mode | First split | Second split |
|---|---|---|
Pubs and Ranked | World’s Edge, Storm Point, E-District | World’s Edge, Olympus, Broken Moon |
Wildcard | Kings Canyon, E-District, Broken Moon | Kings Canyon, Olympus, District |
World’s Edge had special launch windows in early August. Those should not be treated as the permanent rotation for the whole season. The second-split Mixtape schedule runs from September 15 to November 3: TDM uses Fragment, Skull Town, Monument and Estates; Control uses Production Yard, Labs, Barometer and Caustic; Gun Run uses Monument, Estates, Fragment and Skull Town.
Ranked Ladders became five-day competitions. Published second-split windows are September 22-27 and September 29-October 4, followed by October 6-11, 13-18, 20-25 and October 27-November 1. These are individual competitive windows rather than the season’s dates.
Matchmaking tests are not permanent queue requirements. September’s results review did not make either the one-tier premade restriction or compulsory high-rank solo queue permanent. Further major changes belong to plans for later seasons. In your own matches, keep a shared landing and rotation plan instead of trying to infer a new RP formula from an early announcement.
Loot: removals and reworks
Extended Support and Assault Bins were removed, and attachment quality was redistributed. Arsenals are unavailable immediately after landing and activate alongside EVO Harvesters; their panels upgrade one slot by one tier, up to purple. Plan the first fight around weapons actually found on the ground.
Bin Reset remains. At launch it stopped automatically upgrading loot quality, while gold and mythic bins were removed. September strengthened replenishment: reset bins gained more healing, ammunition, survival-slot items and Amps. A pause before the final zones remains an opportunity to restore supplies.
Wildlife did not stop dropping everything either: killed Prowlers and Spiders leave healing and ammunition, but no longer provide attachment smart loot. Special locations such as vaults retain value while top equipment is less widely available. Make a risky detour for an upgrade only when it preserves the squad’s route toward a safe position.
Battle Pass and Allfather’s Fury
The season has two separate Battle Passes, one per split. The Free Track is automatic; Premium costs 950 Apex Coins, while Ultimate and Ultimate+ are purchased with real money at regional prices. Each track has 60 levels, progressed through Daily and Weekly challenges.
The checked second-split page lists Revenant and Fuse skins, a Prowler weapon skin and a Reactive R-301. Ultimate+ adds skin variants, ten level skips and access to all Legends for the split’s duration. That does not permanently unlock the entire roster. Choose a pass according to its available rewards and the time you can actually spend completing challenges.
Allfather’s Fury for the C.A.R. belongs to the Marked Seasonal Pack rather than an ordinary Battle Pass level. Five customization tiers use Exotic Shards to change its appearance and effects. Seasonal Packs offer a chance to obtain it; a purchase should not be described as a guaranteed grant. Offers vary by territory.
Seasonal events
Event | Announced 2026 window | Main Wildcard idea |
|---|---|---|
Ascended Hunt | August 18-September 8 | Upgrade selected Wild Cards through EVO |
Apex Legends VS Street Fighter 6 | September 22-October 13 | Fighter Gear and temporary Fighter Form |
Blood Pact | October 13-November 3 | Beasts or Demons, challenges and faction powers |
These are specific announcements, so the overview is no longer limited to two unnamed events from an early roadmap. Their rules belong to the corresponding Wildcard event rather than every seasonal match. In Blood Pact, fog changes sightlines on Kings Canyon; check a nearby retreat route before chasing a newly spotted target.
Interface, audio and practical preparation
Legend Locker > Weapons now includes Playground for comparing guns and compatible attachments. Changes there do not configure your weapon for the next match. Loot cards show attachment effects and weapon comparisons; Compact reduces the amount of information. Study the detailed view calmly first, then decide how many prompts you need during combat.
You can volunteer to become Jumpmaster; when several teammates volunteer, selection is random among them. Midseason added a dialogue setting for talking weapon skins and fixed excessively loud interiors on Olympus and E-District. The PC move to EA Javelin Anticheat was announced for September 29; the official message describes automatic migration after updating.
Before returning to Ranked, run a short session: an energy weapon with different magazines, one attachment’s benefit and drawback, then a selected new-map route. After a match, examine one specific cause of defeat: an empty reserve, unprepared cloak or lost exit. That gives the next practice session a clear purpose.
Frequently asked questions
Can an energy weapon fully recharge in 18 seconds?
That interval restores one magazine, while the full reserve depends on the weapon and equipped magazine. Wildcard uses a separate 12-second interval and one additional reserve magazine.
Can an enemy use Bloodhound’s cloak?
Yes. Allfather’s Cloak also affects enemies entering its area. Check whom the device helps in the position you select.
Have Bin Reset and all wildlife drops disappeared?
No. Bin replenishment was reworked; Prowlers and Spiders provide healing and ammunition. Losing the previous attachments does not mean losing every item.
Must you change your usual Legend?
There is no compulsory switch. Recheck the Legend’s abilities, upgrades and squad role first. An agreed set of actions is more useful than selecting a character solely because the season is new.
