Apex Legends x Cyberpunk: How Night City Legends Worked
The Apex Legends x Cyberpunk event ran from July 14 to August 4, 2026. It turned Wildcard on E-District into Night City Legends, a temporary mode featuring Cyberware, rapid repositioning, and the risk of Cyberpsychosis. This is a historical guide to the rules and rewards of that completed event.
The central difference from an ordinary firefight was the cost of your enhancements. Cyberware helped you change position abruptly, but every use increased Cyberware Capacity. Reaching the limit transformed your character into a Cyberpsycho and removed the combat tools you normally relied on.
When interpreting old gameplay or collection offers, distinguish the mode's availability, the collection store window, and the requirements for viewing rewards. They served different purposes and had different deadlines. Seeing a cosmetic on another player does not mean the temporary gameplay rules remain available.
The mode, store, and Drops windows
Event component | Dates in 2026 | What it offered |
|---|---|---|
Night City Legends and gameplay event | July 14 - August 4 | Cyberware and the temporary Wildcard presentation |
Cyberpunk Collection | July 14 - August 18 | Collection items in the Store |
Event Twitch Drops | July 14 - August 4 | Rewards for watching eligible broadcasts |
Themed Nessie preorders | July 15 - August 18 | A separate physical plush offer |
These were the announced windows for that campaign. Do not use the same calendar dates in another year to plan a claim. A cosmetic returning and a game mode returning are separate developments that require a new announcement.
Where Night City Legends rules applied

E-District received the temporary Night City presentation in Wildcard; this is an image from the 2026 event.
The mode belonged to Wildcard, with the temporary takeover applied to E-District. Its Cyberware and Cyberpsychosis rules should not be carried over to Ranked. Neon skylines, holographic koi, and altered signage gave the map its Night City presentation.
The practical objective was still coordinated squad play. Rapid movement mattered when teammates could support the fight you created. A solo dash across a street could leave you taking a duel while your allies were still rounding the block. Plan your squad's next position as well as your own exit point.
Sandevistan: movement that restored shields
Sandevistan provided quick dashes in any direction and recharged shields. You could chain two dashes before touching the ground. That made it useful for closing a gap or breaking contact when an enemy already controlled your current angle.
The correct choice depended on what the dash achieved. For an attack, reaching the edge of cover where a teammate could also see the target was more useful than landing in the middle of an enemy squad. For a retreat, identify your next obstacle beforehand. Two movements without a safe destination merely postponed incoming fire.
Shield restoration did not remove the cost in Cyberware Capacity. A successful sequence of dashes could therefore trigger an awkward transformation at the moment you needed conventional gunfire. Watching the meter was a resource decision, rather than a decorative interface detail.
Blackwall Breach: a phase reposition followed by an EMP

Blackwall Breach let you enter the Net to reposition, then release an EMP that damaged enemy shields and tracked their location. Its role was different: create a coordinated opening and disrupt an opponent's position, rather than simply reproduce Sandevistan's movement.
A useful sequence was to identify the flank you wanted, tell your allies the direction, reposition, and exploit the resulting window together. If teammates were not ready to shoot, shield damage and information alone did not guarantee an elimination.
Do not assume an invented period of invulnerability after the phase ended. Your destination needed cover or an already prepared trade. Going behind a squad alone was particularly risky when other teams might also be nearby.
What Cyberpsychosis changed
Filling Cyberware Capacity transformed you into a fast melee combatant. The state provided high movement speed and devastating melee attacks, but removed weapons, abilities, shields, and ordnance. It changed your available tools rather than adding a free upgrade to an ordinary gunfight.
Situation | How it changed the decision |
|---|---|
An opponent was close around a corner | Melee could become threatening if you had a safe approach |
An opponent held a distant sightline | Losing guns and shields made a direct crossing dangerous |
Your squad was preparing to rotate | The plan needed to account for your altered pace and tools |
Capacity was almost full | Another Cyberware use could change the entire fight plan |
Immunoblocker Syringes helped manage overload or reverse Cyberpsychosis. Immunoblocker Caches cleared the meter. If your goal was to retain normal weapons, look for that opportunity before the decisive fight, rather than after one last risky activation.
What the cosmetic collection included
The event introduced eight Legend skins for Axle, Sparrow, Lifeline, Crypto, Rampart, Loba, Ash, and Gibraltar. Its eight weapon skins were for the Wingman, Charge Rifle, Mastiff, L-STAR, P2020, RE-45, R-301, and Kraber.
The Mythic Skippy Alternator was a separate highlight, with Puppy Loving Pacifist and Stone Cold Killer dialogue modes. Exotic Shards unlocked visual variations, ordnance skins, and knock effects. A Mythic cosmetic did not mean receiving a separate, guaranteed stronger weapon in Ranked.
The Reward Shop used Eddies earned during the event. Announced rewards included the Epic Arasaka Flight Protocol Valkyrie skin and Kang-Tao Specter Mirage skin. Eddies and Exotic Shards served different reward and upgrade systems and should not be confused.
How Twitch Drops were earned
Drops were enabled for Apex Legends broadcasts during the campaign. You needed linked EA and Twitch accounts, a signed-in Twitch session, and viewing time on an eligible stream. The SAMURAI Weapon Charm required 30 minutes of viewing; the Data Diver Tracker Set required 60 minutes.
The announcement said rewards would appear in-game within 24 hours, the next time you logged on. If a reward did not appear immediately, the checks were: the correct account link, completed viewing time, and signing into the linked game account. Watching without the required link did not replace the participation condition.
How to interpret older event advice
If a video recommends constant Cyberware use, look for how it handles Capacity and obtains Immunoblocker. If it shows cosmetics, establish whether they came from the Store collection, Reward Shop, or Drops. Those distinctions separate a genuine mechanic of that mode from a montage of successful moments or instructions for an expired promotion.
Can old Drops be earned by watching now?
That campaign ended on August 4, 2026. Its old viewing requirement is not an invitation to a new campaign. A repeat giveaway needs a separate active offer.
Did Cyberware work in Ranked matches?
Night City Legends was part of Wildcard. Its special rules should not be presented as Ranked rules.
Did the store close with the mode?
No. The gameplay event ended on August 4, while the Cyberpunk Collection remained in the Store until August 18, 2026.
