What Avian Alarm Was and Why It Mattered

Avian Alarm was a five-stage Raider Project from the Riven Tides update (patch 1.26.0, April 28, 2026). It stood apart from ordinary projects because it did not open with a hand-in. You first had to head out onto the Riven Tides map and set a trap for birds.

The key reward was the Dockmaster's Detector, the tool behind the Beachcombing mechanic. The remaining stages added a blueprint, materials, cosmetics and Raider Tokens. Data is current as of 10/18/2026: the project closed around May 26, 2026, almost together with the Last Resort event, and it has not returned since.

This write-up is useful in two cases. If you finished the project, you can check the stages and rewards against your own run. If you missed it, you will see what it paid out and how projects in Speranza are built.

Stage 1: The Bird Trap on the Seabed

The first stage, "Initial Flock Intake," was the only one without item hand-ins. You opened the project page in Speranza, queued into Riven Tides and placed a Bird Trap near the buoys on the dried-up seabed. The landmark was the area northeast of the Port Authority Building, on the stretch between it and the Wavebreaker point of interest.

According to player reports, the buoy had several interaction spots and you did not have to bring a trap along, because the prompt appeared on site. The same reports say you did not need to extract after placing it: the step registered once you were back in Speranza with the project page open.

Stage 1 paid the Dockmaster's Detector and 25 Raider Tokens. The tool arrived at the very start, so you could dig up buried loot long before the final stage.

All Stages and Rewards

From stage 2 to stage 5 the project turned into material hand-ins, and every stage after the first also asked for Ship Models. The full picture looked like this.

Stage

1. Initial Flock Intake

Place a Bird Trap by the seabed buoys

Dockmaster's Detector, 25 Raider Tokens

2. Preliminary Signal Birds

7 Tick Pod, 20 Canister, 12 Moss, 5 Twilight Compass

Heavy Gun Parts blueprint, 3 Surge Coil, 25 Raider Tokens

3. Secondary Validation Birds

3 Comet Igniter, 10 Fertilizer, 10 Rusted Tools, 5 Velocity

5. Critical Warning Birds

Bird House attachment, Fist In Air emote, Acoustic Guitar, 100 Raider Tokens

Adding up every stage gives 250 Raider Tokens. The most useful reward for combat progress came at stage 2, which gave the Heavy Gun Parts weapon blueprint.

The rewards split by purpose. Combat players wanted the blueprint, Surge Coil, Anvil 4 and Anvil Splitter. Cosmetics were Gel Patches, Bird House, the Fist In Air emote and the Acoustic Guitar. The Riven Tides hotel keycard from stage 4 came as a separate reward.

Materials to Gather in Advance

The list looked long, but the Ship Models were the hard part: every stage from 2 to 5 asked for specific kinds.

  • Ship Models: 5 Twilight Compass (stage 2), 5 Velocity (stage 3), 5 Sirena Dorata (stage 4) and 1 Leviathan's Crown (stage 5).

  • Biggest batches: 20 Canister and 12 Moss at stage 2, then 10 Fertilizer and 10 Rusted Tools at stage 3.

  • Easy to forget: 1 Vaporizer Regulator and 3 Water Filter at stage 4, 2 Turbine Compressor at stage 5.

In total the project wanted 16 Ship Models: five each of Twilight Compass, Velocity and Sirena Dorata, plus one Leviathan's Crown. The basic Wind Sprite model was not needed.

To close stages back to back without extra raids, it pays to stockpile early. That takes room, and stash expansion helps there. If the same resources are also needed for a crafting station upgrade, work out first what covers both, since the project asked for big batches, such as 20 Canister at stage 2.

Ship Models and Beachcombing

The quickest way to collect models was to run Riven Tides with the Dockmaster's Detector and dig up buried loot. Common and uncommon models also sat in containers at Hotel Panorama Azzurro, Port Authority and the Weighing Checkpoint, while rarer ones turned up more often in Beachcombing caches.

The hardest item in the project was the Leviathan's Crown. According to player reports, it dropped from Blue Suitcases dug up at the dig spots on the Riven Tides beach. Stage 5 needed only one crown, but it was the hardest piece to find.

A practical route went like this: grab the Detector at stage 1, enter Riven Tides while the Beachcombing condition is active, sweep the beach dig spots, and look through Hotel Panorama Azzurro on the way out. One raid could then yield several models plus ordinary hand-in resources.

How the Dockmaster's Detector Worked

The tool only worked while the Beachcombing map condition was active. The signal color told you the distance: orange meant buried loot was far away, yellow meant you were closer, and green meant dig here.

In practice this turned the shoreline into a separate treasure hunt. You followed the color, dug, took the cache, and then decided whether the next one was worth the risk. Players also reported the Detector turning up as world loot during Beachcombing, but stage 1 stayed the dependable way to get it.

The tool did not depend on later stages, so it made sense to grab it first and start digging before the stage 2 materials were ready. If you ran into locked rooms along the way, the right keys helped.

Timeline and Deadlines

The project arrived on April 28, 2026 with the Riven Tides update and ended around May 26, 2026 (some outlets say May 25). Players had about a month for five stages, and the search for Ship Models took the longest.

Avian Alarm has not been re-released, so the stage rewards are unavailable now. If it returns, expect the same layout as the first time: one task in the field and four material hand-ins.

What to Take Away From It

Avian Alarm shows how projects in Speranza were put together. The first step handed out a tool, the middle stages a blueprint and resources, and the last one cosmetics and the biggest chunk of Raider Tokens.

  • Start with the slow part. Items that are hard to find should be hunted from day one, with easy hand-ins left for last.

  • Combine raids. A coastal run for Ship Models can double as progress on your current quests.

  • Count your stock. Do not spend hand-in resources on anything else until the nearest stage is done.

Overall progress matters too: the higher your leveling and the stronger your picks in the skill tree, the calmer raids on tough maps like Riven Tides get.
