What the update brought and where it stands now

Season 5 Reloaded was the midseason update for Black Ops 7 (BO7). It went live on August 20, 2026 at 9:00 AM PT on PC, PlayStation and Xbox, as update 1.105 for Warzone and PC and 2.04 on consoles. Multiplayer got the Turbo Tilt map, the Cranked Moshpit playlist, the Freerun: Descent course and the Mace melee weapon. Zombies got Rex Infernus, the final Round-Based map.

The data is current as of October 18, 2026. Season 6 has been live since September 17, and Modern Warfare 4 launches on October 23, so this reads as a look at what Reloaded left in the game and what you can still finish. There was no separate battle pass: the Season 5 pass kept running, while the Last Call and Freerun: Descent events ran in the second half of the season with their own rewards.

Everything below is split by mode: multiplayer first, then Freerun, Zombies and rewards. The last section covers what to do before the next game arrives.

Multiplayer: Turbo Tilt, Cranked Moshpit and Mace

Turbo Tilt is the only new PvP map in the update. It is a Nuketown-style arena built inside a working pinball machine, made for 6v6 and 2v2 matches. According to the season description it has a bus, a house, ramps, bumpers and moving balls, so distances are short and threats come from several sides at once.

Cranked Moshpit is a limited-time playlist built on the Cranked mechanic. Your first elimination starts a timer, and further kills or objective play keep it alive. If it runs out, your Operator explodes. The idea is simple: sitting in a corner does not pay, you have to keep looking for fights. Play aggressively, stay near teammates and take the objective, or the timer will finish the job.

Mace is a two-handed melee weapon with long reach and a lunge, but slow swings. A miss leaves you open, while the long lunge lets you strike first. It is a free unlock: check the Weekly Challenges and the Last Call free track.

If you want the hardest goal in multiplayer, that is still the Nuke: it comes with exclusive rewards.

Freerun: Descent and the Gridlock camo

Descent is a Freerun course in BO7. According to Dot Esports, it is a timed run for teams of up to ten players across seven zones. You meet wall jumps, slides, the wingsuit, portals and grappling gun swings. Every fall adds a fault and sends you back to the last checkpoint.

The reward for a clean run is the Gridlock Universal Weapon Camo and 5,000 XP. The official condition is to finish in under 12 minutes with fewer than ten faults. Clean movement matters most: one bad streak of falls eats both your clock and your fault limit.

A player who keeps falling drags down the whole group, so a steady pace beats risky sprints. Pick a route you can repeat confidently.

A practical tip: run the course once with no time goal, learn the checkpoints and the most dangerous zones, and only then go for the record. With a random team, agree in advance who leads and who covers.

Rex Infernus: the end of the Round-Based story

Rex Infernus is the final Round-Based Zombies map in Black Ops 7. The crew cleanses the Shadowsmith's power sites and enters the Warden's sanctuary to stop reality from collapsing. The Main Quest was available on launch day in both Standard and Cursed Mode.

Directed Mode was added to the map later, reportedly with Season 6. Because of that, the unique Calling Card variant for finishing the quest before Directed Mode can no longer be earned.

According to the announcement, the Main Quest rewarded the Bloodthorn Wonder Weapon skin, a Calling Card and 10,000 XP. Collecting the audio logs, documents and artifacts paid another Calling Card and 10,000 XP, and the map Mastery challenge gave an animated card. The Golden Claw Mastercraft Blueprint was sold separately.

Cursed Mode removes quest guidance, trims the interface and starts you with a basic pistol. Rex Infernus also adds Codex, Arcane and Ward Pack-a-Punch camos. If you like the map's spider theme, the Arachnida Zombie Camo is worth a look for your collection.

New survival tools in Zombies

The headline perk is Widow's Wine, a returning Perk-a-Cola. When melee damage drops your health dangerously low, it releases a web explosion around you, with a cooldown so it cannot run constantly. The perk has four Major Augments:

Augment

Effect

Widow's Bite

Melee hits can trigger webs, and cocoon kills may restore health

Hatchling

The explosion summons a friendly Deathspinner

Web Spinner

A slowing field forms around the player

Tangled Web

Normal and Special enemies get cocooned, Elites are slowed

According to the announcement, the map's enemies include the Deathspinner and the Web Mother, spiders that slow players and block escape routes. The Titan Trap pulls Zombies into one spot and deals heavy damage, but it can hurt you too. Stay out of its zone until you know your exit, and do not back into a dead end when webs are nearby.

The Fully Packed Ultra GobbleGum upgrades the weapon in your hands to Pack-a-Punch III in one bite, and in Dead Ops Arcade it grants full armor plates. Keep it for a weak start or a late recovery. The Mystery Box also gained the Ultra-rarity TR2 and Olympia.

Events and rewards in the second half of the season

Last Call collects XP from Multiplayer, Zombies, Endgame and Warzone and unlocks rewards on a free and a premium track. The free track held Mace, the Soph Zaveri and Trimmed Richtofen Operator skins, the Barber Beacon animated emblem and the Nasty Nog charm. Premium added the Nikolai and Vermaak skins, three weapon Blueprints and other cosmetics.

The Descent rewards revolve around movement: the Bullseye and Magnesis camos, the Free Run For All and Take Ten Calling Cards, the animated Count to Five and Sprint for the Finish cards, the No Tripping loading screen, the Obelisk charm and the Vibrant Aurora Blueprint for the Peacekeeper MK1. Check the event menu for the exact conditions.

The season also added two attachments through Weekly Challenges: the RK-9 Calibrated Strike System barrel and the Peacekeeper MK1 Gauss Accelerator fire mod. According to the season announcement, the first deals maximum damage at a set range, and the second fires two silent projectiles at the cost of handling. To use parts like these you first need to level the weapon, and weapon leveling helps with that.

What to do before the next game

There is not much time left in BO7 before Modern Warfare 4, so it helps to set priorities. Last Call and Descent rewards are tied to events, and if they have closed there is no point chasing them. Permanent goals such as the Nuke, camos and Calling Cards stay relevant.

  • Account level. If your goal is to unlock every weapon and attachment, the fastest route is leveling.

  • Prestige. If you are heading for the top marks, Prestige is easy to close while BO7 is still your main game.

  • Story. If you skipped the plot, the Campaign gives context before the Zombies finale.

Zombies fans have one more reason to return: Rex Infernus closes the current story.
