Zodiac Map Guide: Warzone Resurgence in MW4
What to Know Before Your First Drop on Zodiac
Zodiac is the Warzone Resurgence map in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4 (MW4). It reportedly holds up to 44 players, noticeably fewer than a classic battle royale. The pace should be fast: camping a corner until the final circle is unlikely to work, and fights will probably start right after landing.

Three things matter most. The Trackline railway splits the map, it has ten named points of interest, and an underground tunnel network is described as running beneath it for rotations. Those facts shape where you land, what you carry and how you reach the circle.
MW4 launches on October 23, 2026 (PS5, Xbox Series X|S, PC and Switch 2). The open beta is over, and the descriptions here rely on official material and the beta showing. Information is current as of October 18, 2026.
The Setting
Zodiac takes place in South Korea, on the grounds of DRC Advanced Systems, a fictional company that builds weapons and drones. The publisher describes the location as a drone assembly and manufacturing headquarters, so the map feels closer to a closed military-industrial campus than a city district.
Official screenshots show a map with Korean signage, flags, modern transport infrastructure and a mountain backdrop with wind turbines. Most buildings are technical or research facilities: halls, warehouses, offices and development departments. Trains carry staff between zones inside the complex, and that same railway is the backbone of the map.
For players, this means a mix of tight interiors, industrial yards and, judging by the layout, more open ground in the north and along the shoreline. Both close and long-range fights fit, so a versatile loadout is the safer pick.
All Zodiac Points of Interest
The names of the ten locations come from the map description. The positions and notes below are approximate readings of the layout and may be refined after release.

Location | Position (approximate) | What to expect |
|---|---|---|
Admin | Northwest | Multi-level office complex, fights on floors and from rooftops |
Solar | East of Admin, on higher ground | Solar-panel field with little hard cover |
Old Mines | Northeast | Rocks, vegetation, elevation changes, open terrain |
Dispatch | West side of the main complex | Warehouses, containers, roads and direct access to Trackline |
Trackline | Center of the map | Double rail line with trains, fights on and beneath the tracks |
R&D | East, between Old Mines and Sentinel | Isolated research building with strong elevation |
Depot | Southwest of Trackline | Compact industrial yard, short engagements |
Furnace | South-central, below Trackline | Dense manufacturing area on the path between flanks |
Cooling | South, near the shoreline | Large buildings and approaches to the docks |
Sentinel | Southeast | Fortified compounds with several defensible structures |
Resurgence maps usually pack their points of interest close together, so there is little downtime between fights. Even from the edge, the next location is a short run away, so plan your route ahead.
Trackline: The Center and Main Rotation Hub
Trackline sits in the middle of Zodiac and consists of a double rail line with several trains. You can move both along and beneath the tracks, so it is a combat zone and a link between sections of the map at the same time. Developers single it out in the map description.

The railway effectively cuts the map in half. Any squad that needs to cross from west to east, or back, will end up near Trackline sooner or later. In practice:
if you land by the tracks, expect the densest fights of the early match;
before rotating, decide whether to cross over the top or go under the trains;
bring a smoke grenade or another way to cover your crossing near the center.
Agree in advance who covers the upper level and who moves on the ground. That helps you keep tempo when enemies show up on the tracks from two sides.
Elevation, Tunnels and Vehicles
Zodiac has several layers of height. Buildings around some locations are tall, and rooftops and upper-floor windows suit snipers and long-range shooters. The multi-level Trackline adds vertical positions in the center too.

According to Activision, an underground tunnel network runs beneath the map. Squads can use it to rotate, flank an enemy team or briefly break line of sight before attacking again. Keep in mind that enemies can come through it behind you as well.
Little is known about vehicles. The developers hinted at combat vehicles, possibly including a helicopter and an APC or tank, but no spawn locations have been named. There is also no information on how legendary loot is distributed.
How Resurgence Works on Zodiac
Resurgence is a shorter, faster version of battle royale in which a fallen player can return to the match. The general rules are these.
Respawns. You can come back as long as at least one squadmate is alive.
Contracts. Completing them reduces the respawn timer.
Victory. The last squad standing wins.
On a small map with close points of interest, reviving a teammate is usually a better play than risking the whole squad for a single kill. As long as one player holds on, the team still has a chance.
Choosing Where to Land
There are no official landing recommendations, so what follows is educated guesswork from the map layout, not verified fact.
Hot zones. Trackline and neighboring Dispatch, Depot and Furnace will likely be the busiest: they sit in the center and are linked by roads.
Quieter options. Edges such as Old Mines and Solar are probably calmer, but there is less hard cover and gearing up takes longer.
For long range. Admin and R&D look well suited to positions from above, judging by building height.
A universal rule: don't commit to a single spot. Learn two or three rotation routes, including through the tunnels. If you want faster weapon progress, DVING offers weapon leveling, and for your profile level there is account leveling.
Which Weapons to Bring to Zodiac
The map mixes tight buildings, yards and open ground, so a single weapon class rarely covers every situation. It makes sense to build two kits for different ranges and swap them depending on where you land.
Interiors. In Admin, Depot and the Dispatch warehouses, fights happen at short range. SMGs are usually handy here, and submachine guns leveling speeds up their unlocks.
Mid range. Around Trackline and on the roads between locations, assault rifles fit, and assault rifles leveling brings the attachments sooner.
Heights and open ground. Rooftops and the northern slopes suit sniper rifles, and sniper rifles leveling shortens the road to your build.
If you'd rather not spend your first matches grinding XP, battle pass leveling can help.
