All CS2 Maps in Season 5: Premier, Competitive and New Arrivals
Which Maps Are in CS2 in Autumn 2026
The Counter-Strike 2 map pool has changed a lot over the past year. Season 5 of Premier began in July 2026: Cache returned to the Active Duty pool in place of Overpass, and several community maps joined the official modes. A few older maps were removed at the same time.
The key point is that every mode has its own list. Premier uses seven Active Duty maps, regular Competitive offers fifteen, and Wingman and the arcade modes have pools of their own. Check which map you actually need before you pick a queue.
Below you will find every current pool, what each map is about and where to start. The data is current as of 10/18/2026: no pool changes have been made since the July 8 update.
The Premier Pool in Season 5
Premier uses the Active Duty pool of seven maps: Cache, Ancient, Anubis, Dust 2, Inferno, Mirage and Nuke. Cache came back to the competitive modes on April 28, 2026, and entered Active Duty with the July update, pushing Overpass out.

FACEIT queues usually follow the Active Duty pool, though custom hubs can pick their own maps. If you want to raise your FACEIT level faster, these seven maps are the ones to learn, since Premier matches are built from them.
Mode | Maps |
|---|---|
Premier and Active Duty | Cache, Ancient, Anubis, Dust 2, Inferno, Mirage, Nuke |
Extra in Competitive | Overpass, Train, Vertigo, Office, Italy, Boulder, Fachwerk, Shelter |
Casual and Deathmatch | The same fifteen maps as Competitive |
Wingman | Its own set, including the new Debris and El Dorado |
The Seven Premier Maps at a Glance
Each Active Duty map has its own character. Here is what matters most about key areas and round tempo.
Cache. The classic map brought to Source 2 with its familiar three lanes. Rounds almost always revolve around Mid control. Key spots: Mid, A Main, Squeaky, Highway, B Main, Checkers, Heaven.
Ancient. Jungle-covered ruins with narrow entrances and heavy utility fights. Control of Mid, Cave and Donut often decides whether a team can rotate safely. A splits work best when the Terrorists hold both Donut and A Main.
Anubis. An Egyptian setting with water routes and fast rotations. After taking Mid or Canal, the attackers get many options, while defenders have to listen for pushes from several directions.
Dust 2. The most recognizable map in the series. A simple layout built around Long A, Mid, Short and B Tunnels. Long-range duels make it a good fit for rifle and AWP players.
Inferno. The map where grenades matter most: Banana, Apartments, Second Mid and tight corridors demand Molotovs, smokes and flashes. In March 2026 Valve extended A Balcony and closed A Graveyard to make A retakes easier.
Mirage. Clear routes with plenty of room for splits and fakes. Mid, Connector and Window open up both sites. Almost everyone knows the basic callouts, which makes solo queue communication easier.
Nuke. A vertical map where Outside, Ramp and Heaven often decide the round before a plant. A good pick for players who enjoy positioning and rotations.
The Other Competitive Maps
Regular Competitive adds eight maps on top of Active Duty: Overpass, Train, Vertigo, Office, Italy, Boulder, Fachwerk and Shelter. Each map has its own rank here, so the mode suits practicing a single map without the Premier veto. If you are just starting, play your placement matches on a map you already know.

Overpass left Premier in July 2026 but stayed in Competitive. Long sightlines on A mix with tight fights around Water and B, and fast rotations through CT Spawn reinforce either site.
Train is not in the Premier pool now, but it is available in Competitive, Casual and Deathmatch. The Source 2 version added rain, clearer lighting and a few layout tweaks. It rewards AWP players and careful utility, and defenders rely on Z Connector rotations.
Vertigo is built on verticality and tight chokepoints. Its layout stayed familiar, and the main difference in CS2 is the updated lighting.
Office is a hostage rescue map. Terrorists guard the hostages while Counter-Terrorists extract them, and the narrow corridors and defensive rooms tend to favor the defense. In close fights, check room corners before you commit.
Italy is known for its marketplace, wine cellar and long corridor, and it favors short duels and quick passes between areas.
New Community Maps in Season 5
The July update added Boulder, Fachwerk and Shelter to Competitive, Casual and Deathmatch, and Debris and El Dorado to Wingman. Strategies are still taking shape, so in the first weeks the players who know the routes best have the edge.

Boulder is a bomb defusal map set in a Greek monastery on a rock formation. Open outdoor paths alternate with tight interiors, and the exposed areas give strong sniper angles.
Fachwerk is a small German town in autumn with half-timbered houses, cobblestones and narrow alleys. It has a classic two-site layout with a central Mid. A sits in a more open square, while B has tighter entrances. Balcony, Arch, Inn and Mid are worth learning first.
Shelter is a hostage rescue map in an animal shelter where Counter-Terrorists rescue dogs instead of people. The rules are standard for the mode, and the objective gives the map its own personality.
Debris is a French town in Madagascar hit by an aircraft crash. It is played in Wingman only.
El Dorado is the ruins of the mythical city of gold, also Wingman only.
Wingman, Casual, Deathmatch and Arms Race
Wingman is a 2v2 mode played on compact maps with a single bombsite, so it is a quick way to train close fights and pair play. The exact pool shifts over time, and the newest maps are Debris and El Dorado. Poseidon has been in Wingman since January 2026.
Casual brings bigger teams, free armor and a relaxed economy. It is a calm way to learn the current maps before Competitive, and it uses the same fifteen maps. Deathmatch removes the economy and respawns you after every death, which works for angles, recoil and unfamiliar positions. Its maps come from the same pools as the other modes. Arms Race uses a separate set of maps and gives you a new weapon for each batch of kills.
If your Premier rating is stuck, you can order a CS2 rank boost or a lower-profile private rank boost.
Maps That Were Removed
The July 2026 update removed Warden, Stronghold, Alpine and Sanctum from all official modes. They are no longer in matchmaking, and community versions can be found on the Steam Workshop where they exist. Do not plan practice around them, since they are in no current pool.
The Active Duty pool usually changes with the start of a new season. The end date of Season 5 has not been announced.
Where to Start and How to Practice
Mirage is the best all-around teacher: it covers Mid control, splits, rotations and standard utility. Dust 2 is simpler for newcomers because its routes read at a glance. If you are aiming for a Premier rating, split your time across all seven pool maps rather than polishing just one.
Start with Dust 2 or Mirage and learn smokes and flashes for the standard positions.
Then move to Inferno and Cache, where utility discipline wins rounds.
Try the new Boulder, Fachwerk and Shelter in Casual and Deathmatch until the positions feel familiar.
Coaching helps you find weak spots faster: a coach reviews your demos and shows where you lose rounds. The July update also reworked the bomb, so the blast is weaker around corners and does not pass through walls, and since July 21 the C4 also disperses smokes, which means old utility setups are worth rechecking.
