Season 11 Fishing: What It Is and Why Bother

Fishing arrived in Delta Force with Season 11 Reorientation, which launched on September 8, 2026. The main stage for it is the rebuilt Layali Grove, now with water routes. It is a separate progression track with its own level, certifications and a collection of 27 fish species.

What matters before your first cast: you need Operations Level 17 and a mission from the NPC Joe Reed. Catches sell for Fishing Coins, and your Gallery records stay with you even when extraction fails. The fish in your backpack do not survive a failed extraction.

Below, in order: how to unlock fishing, how the two methods differ, where to find water, how certifications work and what to do with your catch.

How to Unlock Fishing

Fishing is not available right away. You complete a short chain of steps, and your first rod and bait arrive by mail after the match.

  1. Reach Operations Level 17. If you are only a little short, a dedicated service can help you level up faster.

  2. Enter Layali Grove on Easy difficulty.

  3. Find Joe Reed and take his introductory fishing mission.

  4. Complete it, extract, and claim the mail with your first rod and bait.

Players report that Joe Reed can spawn in one of up to three spots, so expect to look for him on your first run. A September 9 patch added a dialogue prompt for him, which makes him easier to spot. The September 10 update fixed a mismatch between some fishing mission requirements and their real objectives, so trust the mission text in the game itself.

Do not skip the mail after extraction: until you claim it you have no rod, and it can look as if the mission did not count.

Two Methods and Your Gear

The game has two methods: Float Fishing and Lure Fishing. Rods, lines, reels and bait are customizable, and your setup affects which fish bite and how hard they are to land.

  • Float. Cast, wait for a bite and hook at the right moment. It is the simpler method and a good way to start.

  • Lure. The fish fights back while you manage line tension. Players describe a meter that changes color as the load grows, and in the red zone it is best to stop reeling until the pressure drops.

Match your bait to the method: float and lure fishing use different consumables, so bring more than you think you need. If a fish keeps breaking free, check whether your line suits its weight before blaming your reaction.

In practice: start with the float while you learn the rhythm of bites, and save big fish and certification targets for the lure rod. Better rods, lines and bait unlock as your fishing level climbs.

Where to Fish

The main fishing map is Layali Grove on Easy: it has the most developed water network, and Joe Reed's mission starts here, so it makes sense to learn this map first.

Players report fishing spots on other maps too, such as Zero Dam and AZ3. Check the exact list of spots in the game before you deploy.

While you are learning, stick to one map. A familiar shoreline saves minutes on every run, and experience comes faster when you already know where to go from the drop point and where it is safest to stand with a rod.

One note on the Radioactive Grouper. You need it for the Level 40 certification, and players say it is caught in the offshore waters near A3 Nuclear Plant. Plan that run ahead of time.

Fishing Levels and Joe Reed Certifications

Fishing level goes up to 50. Every catch gives experience, but at levels 10, 20, 30 and 40 progress stops until you pass Joe Reed's certification. The four certifications grant the Advanced, Veteran, Master and Grandmaster tiers.

Level

What to hand in

10

Introductory check, see the mission text in game

20

Mullet over 1.5 kg and Zander over 2.5 kg

30

Topmouth Culter and one bichir species

40

North African Catfish and Radioactive Grouper, then a juvenile shark on a lure rod

Compare the list of required species with what you have already unlocked in the Gallery. Level 20 only needs two fish of the set weight, but levels 30 and 40 demand the named species, so those become targeted runs rather than random catches.

These requirements have been adjusted by patches, so the in-game wording may differ slightly. Go with the mission text.

A practical rule: when your level stops rising, do not keep fishing in vain. Pass Joe Reed's certification first, then go back to casting.

Gallery, Extraction and Storage

The Gallery is a permanent catalog of all 27 species, split into Common, Rare and Collectible. Each new species unlocks its own entry, and records are kept even when an extraction fails.

  • Successful extraction. The fish stays with you for storage or sale. Once extracted, fish do not take regular stash space.

  • Failed extraction. The fish you carried are lost, but Gallery records remain.

Players report five rarity tiers for individual fish, from Common to Ultimate. Rarity affects sale price and the Gallery entry. Species category and the rarity of a single catch are separate things, so even a common species can occasionally give a valuable fish.

That shapes your tactics: you can chase rare species for the collection without risking progress, but only fish you actually carry out are worth money. Do not overload your backpack unless you are confident you will reach the exit.

Fishing Coins and Rewards

Fish sold after extraction turn into Fishing Coins. Coins go toward gear, achievements, medals and Match Ratings. This is the core currency of the system, so sell your catch regularly instead of hoarding it without a goal.

Spend coins on what actually moves fishing forward: better rods, line and bait widen the range of fish you can land.

The game previously ran the Crimson Carp King event, which gave a red Crimson Carp King collectible and 10 Armament Vouchers. It belongs to the past and is not part of the Season 11 fishing system.

Quick Start Tips

  • Spend your first run on Joe Reed and the shoreline, not on rare fish.

  • Bring spare bait so a session does not get cut short.

  • Catch reliable fish for experience until you hit a level gate.

  • Check the in-game mission before a certification and memorize the required species.

  • Hunt rare Gallery fish in dedicated runs when you have time for a long fight.

Fishing will not replace the main mode, but it gives you a calmer rhythm between fights, a separate progression track and its own currency. If you also want to grow in the main mode, look at leveling and your rank. Level 17, one evening and some patience are enough to start fishing.
