Cold control that decides fights

N-Two (Gabriel Mercier) is an Engineer operator who arrived on June 30, 2026 with Season 10 Meltdown. He plays through area control and cryogenic tech: he slows enemies, freezes closed doors and forces opponents to fight on terms they did not choose.

Kills are not his main job. N-Two's value is the time and space he gives a squad, since slowed and frozen targets are much easier to finish. The developers described him as useful in both Operations and Warfare.

Data is current as of October 17, 2026. Season 11 Reorientation is live (September 8 to November 9). Meltdown ended on September 7, but N-Two remains in the game.

How to get N-Two

N-Two was the key unlock of the Season 10 Meltdown Pass. The pass closed with the season, so check the operator screen in game for the current way to get him.

To get a new operator into your setup sooner, you can speed up overall account progress: DVING offers a Leveling service for that.

N-Two's kit

Every ability is built around cold: the launcher and the flask for zoning, a grenade to open fights and one passive trait for each mode.

Ability

Type

What it does

Frost Launcher

Temporary gear

Fires up to six cryogenic grenades; fire rate rises with continuous fire

Cryo-Flask

Gadget

Creates a low-temperature zone, freezes closed doors, enemies inside cough

Homing Stun Grenade

Grenade

Tracks its target, disrupts vision and deals damage

Frostbite

Operations trait

Slows enemies until frozen and lowers fracture resistance

Permafrost

Warfare trait

Slows enemies until frozen and lowers vehicle handling

The launcher is temporary gear, so do not spend all six grenades on one target in the open. It shines where enemies bunch up: stairwells, tight corridors, room exits.

Cryo-Flask is the main zoning tool. Throw it at a room entrance or a corridor junction and the enemy either backs off or fights through the cold. A door that freezes shut after the throw becomes part of your plan too.

The Homing Stun Grenade opens fights. Use it when you know roughly where enemies are, ideally right after the flask: the opponent has to react, and your teammates enter with less risk.

How to play in Operations and Warfare

Play for space, not kills. Hold doors, stairs, narrow passages, extraction routes and vehicle lanes so enemies must cross cold zones before they can answer.

The order is simple. Flask on the entrance first, then the launcher on anyone pushing or retreating, and the stun grenade for those who peek through the confusion. In Operations this set is especially good on staircases, behind closed doors, in boss rooms and during extraction. Frostbite helps there: a target that is already slowed is easier to finish.

If you play a lot of Operations and are thinking about your operations level, take a look at the Operations Level service.

In Warfare, cold zones cover infantry and vehicles alike. Permafrost lowers vehicle handling, so a flask on a crowded objective path hurts the enemy push. It does not replace anti-vehicle weapons, but it noticeably cuts enemy mobility.

If you try different gear sets on N-Two, keep a stock of Tekniq Alloy.

Who to bring in a squad

N-Two works best when the squad can find targets, pin them down and finish them fast. Alone he is strong only in tight rooms; with a coordinated team he plays at full strength.

  • Luna (Recon): Detection Arrow reveals enemies, so the flask lands more accurately.

  • Hackclaw (Recon): Signal Decoder scans up to three electronic signals and helps catch rotations.

  • Stinger (Support): helps the squad survive aggressive pushes.

  • Toxik (Support): according to player reports, adds another layer of disruption while N-Two holds space.

  • Shepherd (Engineer): a second source of area control.

  • D-Wolf (Assault): rushes slowed and stunned enemies quickly.

Squad composition matters most in ranked play, so agree beforehand who finishes frozen targets. That helps while you climb Rank. Season 11 also added Rover, a new support operator. On maps such as Layali Grove, look for tight rooms and narrow passages, which is where N-Two gives the most.

Strengths and weaknesses

N-Two's advantages are clear wherever fights happen at doors and in corridors.

  • Strong zoning through slows and freezing.

  • Stops pushes through doors and chokepoints.

  • The launcher pressures several enemies at once.

  • Cryo-Flask covers rooms and passages and freezes closed doors.

  • The stun grenade helps start fights safely.

The weak spots show up in open ground and when playing without a team.

  • Less useful in wide fights with many angles.

  • Needs teammates to finish slowed enemies.

  • Poor ability timing leaves him without pressure tools.

  • If enemies spread out, cold zones catch fewer targets.

This is playstyle, not a power ranking: no balance data on N-Two exists for Season 11, and the September 17 update touched other operators. Pick him if you like traps and blocked routes, and skip him if your game is pure aim.

How to play against N-Two

First practical tip: do not stack at one door. That is exactly how the flask and launcher pay off, so split up and enter from different sides.

Second, keep your distance. N-Two is strong when enemies stand inside cold zones and weaker when the fight moves into the open. Fast operators can bait his abilities by peeking and backing off, then strike from another angle.

In Warfare, drivers should steer around cold zones: Permafrost hurts handling, and a vehicle stuck in the zone is an easy target.

Third, make him waste his tools. Let one player peek, take a dose of cold and retreat while the rest flank, so by the time N-Two runs out of gear the fight is already on your terms.

If you play N-Two yourself, apply the same rules in reverse. Do not stretch the fight into open ground, save the flask and grenade for the moment enemies reach a door, and never empty the launcher into a single opponent.

Who N-Two suits

He is an operator for players who like to plan a fight in advance: block the route, prepare the entrance, hand teammates a clean target. In short duels he trails Assault operators, but in a coordinated team he turns any doorway into a trap.

In a random squad teammates may not use the freeze, yet zoning still rescues bad situations: the enemy loses tempo and you get a chance to fall back and regroup. For comfortable play, run the flask, grenade, launcher chain a few times in normal matches before taking it into serious sessions.
