Season 22 brings back the classic Crota’s End Raid, and with it — the return of the iconic Exotic auto rifle Necrochasm from the original Destiny. Unlike before, it’s not all about RNG anymore. Players can now earn the weapon through a dedicated Exotic Quest, making the process more structured and achievable.

How to Start the Necrochasm Quest

After defeating Crota, players receive the quest “Bottomless Pit”.

The quest is available directly from the raid loot vendor screen.

No Glimmer or currency is required — it’s completely free.

Upon accepting the quest, you’ll get Husk of the Pit, a common auto rifle.
Step 1: Get Hive Kills with Husk of the Pit

Objective: kill Hive enemies using Husk of the Pit to fill the 0/100 progress bar.

Best method: kill Hive inside the Crota’s End raid — they grant faster progress.

Alternate method: farm the Altars of Sorrow on the Moon.

Once completed, the Husk upgrades to the Eidolon Ally (Legendary Auto Rifle).
Step 2: Collect Essence of the Oversoul

You need 20 Essence of the Oversoul to complete the quest.
