Consecrated Mind in the Pantheon: Boss Strategy

What makes this fight different from the raid

Consecrated Mind in the Pantheon shares a name with the boss from the Garden of Salvation raid, but the mechanics are different. This version combines Conflux defense with the boss itself, and everything happens at once. You hold five Confluxes, keep the Enlightened buff running, collect Voltaic Motes and deal with the boss spit.

The boss is part of the Morgeth Surpassing run. The order is Warpriest, Consecrated Mind, Morgeth, with no matchmaking. The full Gauntlet combines six bosses, while Calus Resplendent and Insurrection Prime are separate activities. The Pantheon is available after update 9.7.0 on June 9, 2026.

Most of the fight is about defending the points from Vex, while boss damage comes in one short window.

You need a fireteam of six, voice chat and a clear idea of who owns what.

Roles and positions

The most common setup in guides is five defenders and one runner. That is a player recommendation, not a game rule, but it covers every task without chaos.

The five Confluxes sit at the starting area, on the left, on the right, across the map from the start and in the middle. The in-game messages call them relays, so don't be surprised to see both words.

Role

Job

Conflux defender

Keep Vex off the point, refresh Enlightened on time, call out Hobgoblins and the boss spit

Middle defender

Hold the center and help with the two-player tether at the right moment

Runner

Move fast around the arena, pick up Motes and carry them to the middle

The runner needs mobility and comfort with portals, since they end up everywhere while the others stay put. Before the first attempt, agree who covers which Conflux.

Getting and refreshing Enlightened

Some Vex have a white shield. The only way to remove it is the Enlightened buff. You get it from a tether between a box and a Conflux: shoot the box, stand in the line and connect it to the point. Everyone in the tether gets the buff for a limited time, so refresh it before it runs out.

Sometimes an Angelic Hydra spawns near a box, and while it is alive the box stays locked. Kill it right away, otherwise you cannot refresh the buff and shielded Vex start piling up at your point.

  • Distance. Stay close to each other so the connection does not break.

  • Shared timer. Refresh the buff for everyone at once so the runner does not have to chase the points.

  • Locked box. A locked box cannot be refreshed, so the Hydra takes priority.

The common approach: when the message says the undergrowth subsides, each defender goes to their own box and attaches to it, while the middle player and the runner close a two-player tether on the middle Conflux. Everyone gets the buff refreshed together.

Voltaic Motes and the runner job

Hobgoblins with a yellow health bar drop Voltaic Motes. Defenders just call out the one near their point, and the runner comes through a portal, finishes it, grabs the Motes and carries them to the middle Conflux.

This continues until the middle relay overloads. The Mote count from the raid does not apply here, so watch for the message that Consecrated Mind is drawn to an overloaded relay. It means the damage phase is about to begin.

If the runner helps defenders with Vex on the way, that is fine, but do not let them get stuck at one point. While they are busy, the other Confluxes have no backup.

Boss spit and Voltaic Overflow

Meanwhile Consecrated Mind walks around the arena and spits on the ground. Someone has to step into the puddle. After that the boss opens up and glowing eyes appear on it. The player standing in the spit calls out which eyes to hit, and the others shoot them.

The player who stepped in gets Voltaic Overflow and cannot repeat the mechanic for a while. It is easier to take turns, and if your debuff is still active, say so in voice chat.

If the spit is missed, the eyes never appear and the damage phase does not start, so everyone should watch for it.

The damage phase

When the boss is drawn to the overloaded relay, the whole team groups in the center. The boss retreats to the back relay and the damage window opens. Players report that it helps to clear the red eyes with primary weapons first so you don't spend heavy ammo before damage even starts.

The boss stays far away, so ranged weapons work best: sniper rifles, linear fusion rifles and rockets. One guide also advises bringing at least one Divinity.

Guardians aiming at a group of enemies in an open area
  • Sniper. For example Whisper of the Worm or Queenbreaker.

  • Hunter. Golden Gun with Celestial Nighthawk.

  • Titan. Thundercrash with Cuirass of the Falling Star.

  • Support. Well of Radiance as insurance.

Decide before the phase who shoots eyes and who goes straight to the boss. While the team stands in the center, keep an eye on any remaining Vex: each one that sacrifices itself brings the wipe closer. Start damage together to fit the window.

If the boss survives one window, the cycle repeats: defend points, refresh the buff, collect Motes, take the spit and overload again.

Common mistakes and how to avoid them

First attempts usually end the same way: someone gets distracted by the boss and shielded Vex pile up at their Conflux. These are the usual causes.

  • A defender left the post. An abandoned point collects sacrifices fast. If you help a neighbor, return right after.

  • The buff expired at different times. With separate timers the runner chases points instead of collecting Motes. One shared refresh fixes it.

  • Nobody took the spit. Agree who steps in first and second, and rotate because of the debuff.

  • Heavy ammo spent before damage. Clear eyes with primary weapons and save heavy for the window.

  • Silent voice chat. Short calls like "Hobgoblin left" or "Hydra on me" save more time than any build.

It helps to run the fight once without trying to kill the boss: just practice the defense, refresh and Mote cycle. After that the damage phase feels like a reward for good teamwork.

Morgeth Surpassing has no matchmaking, so you have to form the team yourself, which is one more reason to split roles before the start.

Preparation and help with the clear

Agree on the layout before you enter and talk through the whole cycle once. If you need to catch up on levels, power leveling can help.

If you don't have time to build a team or learn every mechanic, DVING offers a raids bundle that clears several raids without a long search for a group.
