Insurrection Prime in Destiny 2: Pantheon Final Boss Strategy

The Pantheon 2.0 finale and the rules that matter

Insurrection Prime closes out a Pantheon 2.0 run: the team clears six bosses before reaching it. It is a paired encounter: preparation with batteries and buffs first, then short damage windows on the boss. If you just want the clear, there is a service for the Pantheon: Insurrection Prime Revolutionary encounter, and everyone else can use the breakdown below.

Keep these points in mind from the first minute:

  • six players split into three pairs by Phase Radiance buff: Continuous (C), Angular (A) and Parallel (P);

  • players with different buffs must not stand close together, or they take damage;

  • four Radiant Batteries produce three Drake Tanks;

  • six white shield panels on the boss need to be broken before damage starts;

  • there is no separate final stand, and the fight ends at zero health.

If Pantheon mechanics are new to you, practice on the earlier bosses first: Calus Resplendent and Morgeth Surpassing have the same run rhythm with fewer conditions.

Starting the fight: the first Berserker and the battery

The fight opens with a hunt for a Berserker. According to player reports, you have to step inside its slowing dome and hit two weak points, one in front and one on the back. Then it goes down and drops a Radiant Battery.

The battery is carried to a deposit point. By the same accounts, this first deposit releases the boss and switches on the tactical map. From then on almost the whole team is busy moving batteries, so agree early on who picks them up and in what order.

Remember the Ionized effect. It lands on a player right after depositing a battery and blocks picking up the next one until it expires. One player cannot haul batteries back to back, so the next one goes to a partner.

CAP buffs: building three pairs

Dealing damage to the boss is pointless until everyone has a buff. Phase Radiance buffs come from terminals marked with symbols. Each symbol grants its own buff, and the single-letter callouts keep voice chat short.

You get a buff by meleeing the terminal. The flashing red terminal wipes the whole squad, so the group should locate all three safe terminals first and hit them at about the same time instead of guessing one by one.

The team splits into two groups of three: one picks up buffs underground, then the groups swap. In the end every pair of players should share the same buff.

The buff has an important side effect. Players with different buffs who end up close to each other take damage over time. So pairs with the same buff stay together and different pairs keep their distance.

Batteries and the Drake Tank

The next goal is to get a Drake Tank, which is used to shoot the boss and open the damage window. That means killing more Berserkers and depositing their batteries in the right places. Each Berserker drops two batteries, and a player can carry only one.

The tactical map shows where Berserkers appear and where the batteries go. Assign one player to read the map and call out deposits loudly to the runners. If one caller cannot guide two runners at once, send them one at a time: it is slower but safer.

A wrong deposit does not count, so you will need another Berserker. Once four batteries are in, a Drake Tank spawns at each deposit location, three in total.

While the team is busy with batteries, the boss keeps attacking, so the battery carriers need cover from everyone else.

Shield panels and the challenge

Before the boss can take damage, six white shield panels must be broken: two on the knees, two under the arms and two on the back. Sniper rifles, Linear Fusion Rifles and other precision weapons work well for this.

One thing matters for the challenge on the Custom tier: each player can break only one panel per damage phase. Assign the panels in advance. For example, two players take the knees, two take the underarms and two take the back. After breaking your panel, stop shooting panels and switch to other tasks.

One more update to remember: since patch 9.7.0.3 on July 7, 2026, Divinity and its cage deal no damage to Insurrection Prime at any point in the fight. Building your damage around Divinity makes no sense.

The damage phase: checklist and pulses

Before the Drake Tank shot, the team confirms four things:

  1. all six players have CAP buffs;

  2. four batteries have been deposited;

  3. the Drake Tank has spawned;

  4. all six shield panels are broken.

Then the player at the tank shoots the boss. The chest cavity opens, and the target is inside it: the Servitor within the mech. At the same time a device on the shoulder bursts, and its EMP pulse can change Phase Radiance.

A single phase can bring up to two pulses, and each one may reshuffle buffs. After a pulse, a player whose buff changed walks to the partner who now matches. Check your buff after every pulse, even when it seems you do not need to move. Bad positioning cuts damage and gets players killed by overlapping fields.

A simple layout from player guides: Angular closest to the boss, Continuous back left, Parallel back right. It is a convention, not a game rule, but do not change it mid-fight: someone will run to the wrong spot.

Weapons and loadout

Precise long-range shots decide the damage to panels and to the Servitor. Guides from launch most often name Queenbreaker, Sleeper Simulant, Whisper of the Worm and strong Linear Fusion Rifles. Class support such as Well of Radiance and a Banner Shield Titan helps keep the pace.

To avoid losing time on gear prep, raise your Power level in advance: there is a power leveling service for that. And if you need the whole Pantheon, the raids bundle or the popular hot bundle covers the gear.

Roles and order of actions

Before you go in, pick the map reader: that player should be loud and calm. A quiet map reader turns the battery phase into guessing.

Settle the CAP layout before the tank shot, not during the fight. Split the panels so nobody shoots extras. And agree in advance who carries the first battery and who goes next while the first player has Ionized. Those three agreements save more time than swapping weapons.
