Battle for Brooklyn Celebration Recap: Corrosive Shell and Event Pass
What the Celebration Was
The Battle for Brooklyn 1 Year Celebration marked a year since Agents returned to Brooklyn. It ran from May 21 to June 4, 2026, and had three parts: a festive Event Pass, the Corrosive Shell Global Event, and a hunt for the Phoenix Hunter. It is over now, and everything here is current as of October 17, 2026.
The recap is still worth reading. Corrosive Shell taught players to win through Status Effects, a skill that carries over to any content where enemies shrug off plain bullets. Below you get the dates, pass rewards, shell mechanics, buffs, the mask, builds and the final Hunter.
Brooklyn and its Hunters belong to the Battle for Brooklyn campaign, and the final Hunt required that DLC.
Dates and the Update That Carried Them
The celebration content shipped with TU Y8S1.3 (update 2.27) on May 26, 2026. The same update brought the Whiplash climax mission, and around those days a Gear Set Surge ran from May 26 to June 2, with double Season Pass XP starting June 2.
Part of the event | Start | End | Main rewards |
|---|---|---|---|
Brooklyn Celebration Event Pass | May 21, 2026 | June 4, 2026 | Two free and two premium outfits, 2 Exotic Caches |
Corrosive Shell | May 26, 2026 | June 4, 2026 | Corroded Mask, Global Event Stars |
The pass opened five days before the Global Event, so the first levels could be earned before the shells appeared.
Brooklyn Celebration Event Pass
One pass with two tracks, free and premium. Levels came from Season XP and Global Event Stars.

Free track. Rat Queen Outfit and Danvers Black Tusk Outfit.
Premium track, 1000 VC. LMB Boss Outfit, Cleaners Boss Outfit and 2 Exotic Caches.
If you bought the pass for loot, note that the caches sat on the premium side only, while the free outfits cost nothing extra. The Season Pass overview covers the Season XP that drove it. If caches were the goal, there is a separate Exotic Caches farm.
Corrosive Shell and How It Worked
During the Global Event, some enemies spawned with a chemical Corrosive Shell. You could spot it by the purple aura, and its main trait was deflecting most bullet damage. Plain gunfire went nowhere.

Status Effects broke it: Bleed, Burn, Blind and Ensnare. Environmental hazards such as fire canisters helped too. A broken shell set off an acid blast that applied Corrosion to everyone in the radius, the player included. Corrosion lowered max armor until you left combat.
The blast has a second side. Surviving enemies are set on fire for 6 seconds, and that window is the best moment to finish targets. If an enemy survived, the shell returned 15 seconds after the initial meltdown, and the burning time counted toward that. Dragging fights out only hurt you.
In practice every skirmish became a short loop. You apply an effect, the shell pops, enemies burn, and you finish them before the protection returns. If the effect landed too slowly, the shell came back and had to be broken again.
Corrosive Momentum, the Main Buff
Corrosive Momentum came from killing a corroded enemy, and the killing blow had to be yours.
+50% weapon damage;
+25% rate of fire (RPM);
+25% Status Effect power;
+50% reload speed;
lasts 20 seconds and refreshes on the next corroded kill.
The loop snowballed: break a shell, kill the target, get the window and move straight to the next one. In a group, split the roles. One player spreads effects and pops shells, the other finishes enemies and keeps the buff alive.
Corroded Mask and the Challenges
The Corroded Mask was the reward for finishing the Corrosive Shell event track. Progress ran through Global Event Stars, and daily challenges fed them.
Six challenges unlocked each day for the first four days. Once unlocked they stayed open until the end and counted automatically, so missing one of those early days broke nothing. Challenge stars also fed the Seasonal Vendor, the event track and the Event Pass.
Anyone entering Global Events from scratch did well to raise their SHD level first, since it unlocks Watch bonuses.
Builds for Corrosive Shell
The rule was simple. The more often a build applies Status Effects, the faster shells vanish. Burn and Bleed setups suited it better than pure weapon builds.

Burn with high uptime for quick shell breaks;
Bleed for steady pressure on a group;
crowd control through Blind or Ensnare;
a weapon build backed by Status Effects for finishing.
For the rest of PvE, a ready-made meta build fits. For Corrosive Shell itself, add a Status Effect source to it.
Phoenix Hunter
The Phoenix Hunter hunt began on May 26, 2026. According to player guides, it is the ninth and final Brooklyn Hunter, and meeting it requires the Battle for Brooklyn DLC and all eight earlier Hunter masks.

What follows is a five-clue puzzle across the Brooklyn map. By the same accounts, the first clue involves a rooftop fire pit near the Warehouse CP in Dumbo. Details differ between write-ups, so lean on your own run. The other masks are covered in the Hunter masks guide.
What Still Applies Today
The event is closed, but its logic remains a good trainer for any content where enemies barely take bullet damage. Here is what to keep.
Status Effects before damage. If a target is protected, line up a source of Burn, Bleed, Blind or Ensnare first and think about DPS second. That was the whole Corrosive Shell mechanic.
Group roles. One player opens targets, the other finishes them. The split avoids the mess where everyone shoots shells and nobody gets the buff.
Armor math. Corrosion cut max armor until combat ended, so after a blast it made sense to finish targets fast or step behind cover.
Timer windows. 6 seconds of burning and 15 seconds until the shell returned set the rhythm. Break, finish, move to the next group.
It is a good way for newer players to learn Status Effects: no complicated build or rare items needed.
Everything in this recap belongs to the May 21 to June 4, 2026 window, and the table above lists the dates for each part.
