FC 27 The Grounds Guide: Districts, Activities and Progress
The Grounds in FC 27 connects a social space, smaller football activities and access to Clubs. It offers different ways to learn your footballer, meet mentors and choose a session rather than committing to only one type of match.
At first, every icon can look like part of a compulsory task chain. Choose a goal instead: try one-on-one play, find a club or develop an Archetype. The map then becomes a route-planning tool, and rewards support an activity you understand.
The Grounds, including Clubs, is available in FC 27 versions for PS5, Xbox Series X|S, PC and Nintendo Switch 2. Complete the introduction, then choose a short activity or the Clubs route and identify what progress the session will provide.
Complete the introductory route
The introduction begins with an 11v11 warm-up and then introduces Alex Hunter. He directs you toward Kylian Mbappé and a first 2v2 Street Football match. This sequence establishes the space and the idea of smaller games.
After the tutorial, choose your next activity. Head to Paulo Dybala at the Clubhouse if Clubs is the goal. If you want to understand individual movement and short combinations first, choose a smaller format rather than interrupting that learning with extensive club organisation.
Read available Objectives before starting. Check which actions count in the selected activity. Trying to satisfy conditions from unrelated formats can leave you without expected progress even when the matches themselves go well.

The Grounds map marks the Clubhouse, stadium entrances and activity pitches.
Find your way around the districts
The Terrace links Montclair, Zeiza and Parkside, inspired by French, Argentinian and British football cultures. Learn to recognise the type of entrance you need on the map rather than relying only on how a street looks.
Place or marker | Reason to find it | First-visit task |
|---|---|---|
The Terrace | Orientation between districts | Identify the route that serves your goal |
Clubhouse | Clubs access | Meet Dybala and choose how to participate |
11v11 Drop-In entrance | A match controlling one footballer | Understand your position and responsibility |
Rush Stadium | Stadium Rush activities | Check the available format |
Small-sided pitch | A shorter test of on-ball decisions | Read the local rules before joining |
Do not assume every subsequent match requires another complete walking tour. Learn the map and available interface routes. During the first visit, however, understanding the entrances helps prevent confusion between club competition and smaller activities.
Let mentors guide the direction
Alex Hunter supports general development, while Mbappé focuses on small-sided competition. Chloe Kelly introduces Kickabouts, and Dybala handles the Clubs direction. Begin with the mentor whose activities fit your current goal.
You do not need to complete every path immediately. Read the next Objective and choose one you can combine with the activity you want to play. This supports a coherent learning sequence instead of turning the mode into a collection of urgent obligations.
Check Daily, Weekly and event deadlines separately. A long-term goal and a limited event require different planning. An Objective appearing now does not establish that it will stay unchanged throughout the season.
Choose Street Football, Rush or 11v11
In small-sided 1v1, each side has one outfield player and an AI goalkeeper. In 2v2 and 3v3, the goals are smaller and there are no goalkeepers. Shooting is Manual and passing is Fully Assisted. Check your shot direction first, even if you normally use assistance in 11v11.
Street Football offers 1v1, 2v2 and 3v3. With fewer participants, first touches, movement choices and support become more visible. This makes individual decisions easier to review because possession is rarely far from your involvement.
In 1v1, start by managing distance and avoiding a rushed first action. In pairs or trios, spread out and offer another option after releasing the ball. When everyone moves toward possession, the apparent attacking advantage quickly disappears.
Rush and 11v11 provide a different scale of space and team responsibility. Choose them to practise a role within a more complex structure. Individual dribbling helps, but it does not replace positioning or covering a teammate.
Read a new format's rules before entering. Even within The Grounds, familiar full-size football habits do not automatically transfer. Goals, assistance and the conditions of an activity can differ. A short introduction is often more productive than repeated hurried attempts.

Mentor chains provide a structured introduction to different parts of The Grounds.
Kickabouts: choose a mechanic to explore
Kickabouts change the normal objective of a football match. Begin by identifying what scores, where it is safe to receive and how an action finishes. Competing for a win becomes easier once you understand what actually counts.
Activity | Core idea | Practical focus |
|---|---|---|
Bocce Ball | Place the ball accurately in target areas | Control power and notice dangerous zones |
Team Keepaway | Retain possession through passing | Open the next option before receiving |
The Big Race | Carry the ball through a course | Read the obstacle before accelerating |
Attacking Scenarios | Adapt to changing attacking requirements | Read the round's condition first |
Bucket Ball | A team game built around scoring through a hoop | Prepare a delivery rather than shooting randomly |
Balloon Ball | Protect your balloons while hitting opponents | Watch threats from several directions |
Goal Control | Claim goals through successful attacking actions | Assess the whole pitch rather than repeating one route |
One unsuccessful queue does not establish that nobody wants an activity. EA's October communications noted problems with participant availability in Kickabouts. If a game cannot start, try another available activity or organise a group, without assuming a guaranteed waiting time.
Understand AXP, Masteries and Grounds Coins
AXP develops an Archetype, while attribute allocation adapts the footballer to a job. FC 27 unlocks Archetypes from the beginning and allows individual attribute changes without a paid reset. Experimenting is part of learning a role.
Masteries provide lasting cross-build benefits. Amps provide temporary advantages in applicable matches. Do not treat a temporary item as a replacement for development. Read its scope and remaining match uses before equipping it.
Grounds Coins belong to The Grounds. Do not confuse them with FUT Coins: a similar name does not establish one shared balance across every mode. Stores can also offer purchases using FC Points, so review the currency and conditions of the particular item.
Cosmetics and progression items serve different goals. If your priority is improving a playing role, evaluate purchases against that purpose. Owned items in The Grounds cannot be freely resold to another player. This is not an additional FUT Transfer Market.

FAQ
Where do I find Clubs?
At the Clubhouse inside The Grounds. Meet Paulo Dybala after the tutorial, then choose to create a club, join one or accept an invitation.
Can I change Archetypes for free?
Yes. They are available from the start, and attribute reassignment does not require buying a reset item.
What is the fastest way to earn AXP?
There is no established universal rate. Compare suitable Objectives and activities you can reliably complete. Treat fixed AXP-per-hour claims cautiously unless their conditions have been verified.
Can I sell items from The Grounds?
No. These items are for your own use and cannot be resold to other players like FUT market items.
