Fortnite Galactic Battle 2025: Map, Force Powers and Rewards

Last Updated:26 Feb 2026

Fortnite: Galactic Battle was a Star Wars Battle Royale season that began on May 2, 2025. This guide covers the historical event, its map, weapons, Force training and rewards. Star Wars Battle Pass progression was available until June 7, 2025, Eastern Time; the conditions below are not a promise that these rewards can be earned now.

The season's defining feature was the interaction between several systems. Blasters required heat management, lightsabers offered movement and defensive options, and Force abilities depended on character training. Starfighters helped change your position across the map without removing the need to choose a safe place to exit.

If you are revisiting an old video or studying how the event worked, identify the stage of the season first. Some items arrived after the opening week. The announced release schedule is separated below so that late-May equipment is not mistakenly treated as part of the launch pool.

The announced final narrative event

This calendar explains the announced sequence rather than confirming a repeat today. Do not move these dates into the current year. When watching a match, establish which update came before or after it to understand the available weapons and characters.

The map: four new or changed areas

First Order Base occupied a mountaintop and included a hangar. Epic described five entrances and singled out the utility shaft as a weak point for sneaking inside. That helps explain historical routes without guaranteeing a free entrance: other players could control the same approach.

Outpost Enclave was a noisy smuggler hub, with a nearby parked sandcrawler that Epic encouraged players to explore. Resistance Base was an underground headquarters hidden by foliage, with X-wings and equipment. Vader Samurai's Solitude replaced Shogun's Solitude and housed Darth Vader Samurai and his guards.

Official map for the Galactic Battle 2025 season

This map belongs to Galactic Battle 2025. Location names retain their original in-game form.

Landing choice depended on your objective. Hunting a boss for a specific reward involved a different risk from quiet looting and an early rotation. Before attacking a fortified area, players needed to assess other teams and preserve an exit. Fighting NPCs did not pause the normal match and could attract a third party.

Blasters and overheating

At launch, the season used blasters instead of the conventional firearm pool. They included the DL-44 Blaster Pistol, CR-2 Blaster, ACP Scatter Blaster, BARM-ST12 Scatter Blaster, DLT-19 Blaster Rifle, IQA-11 Marksman Blaster Rifle and A280-CFE Blaster Rifle. The DC-15 Heavy Blaster Rifle, E-11 Blaster and F-11 Blaster also returned.

Sustained fire could overheat a blaster. A practical plan was to avoid exhausting continuous fire before the opponent exposed themselves. Shoot from a position with cover, monitor weapon readiness and change distance deliberately. In close combat, know how you will continue attacking if the current blaster stops firing.

The Thermal Imploder created a dangerous explosion following compression and could tear through nearby structures. It was useful for displacing an opponent or breaking a position rather than carelessly throwing it beside yourself. Tournament availability was separately clarified; the initial caveat should not be treated as an unchanged rule for every competition that season.

Lightsabers and Force training

Players could earn a lightsaber through training or take one from another player. Holding one enabled faster sprinting, double jumping and fall-damage immunity. The weapon and Force knowledge were separate resources, however: picking up someone else's lightsaber did not teach its new holder an ability.

Force Saber Throw

Using a learned ability required an equipped lightsaber, but not necessarily the specific one earned in training. Losing a particular saber and losing the ability to use the Force were therefore different situations. When reviewing a match, check whether the player trained and had a saber equipped at the relevant moment.

Captain Phasma: rewards and the cost of visibility

Defeating Captain Phasma at First Order Base awarded the Mythic Captain Phasma's F-11D Blaster and Phasma's Blaster Medallion. The Medallion extended the time before blasters overheated and reduced their cooldown. It made sustained engagements more manageable without making the carrier invulnerable.

Captain Phasma in an official Galactic Battle image

Defeating Phasma awarded a Mythic blaster and Medallion; carrying a Medallion revealed the owner's position.

Medallions revealed the carrier's general location on opponents' mini-maps. Carrying more made that indication more precise. After collecting such a reward, planning cover and the next rotation became particularly useful: strong equipment could attract more teams looking to intercept its owner.

Starfighters and later Mandalorian equipment

The Imperial TIE fighter was a single-passenger craft armed with blasters. The X-wing offered another way to travel quickly and engage in aerial combat. Planning the landing mattered: ending a flight in open ground in front of a prepared team remained dangerous even after a successful aerial attack.

From May 22, the announcement introduced recruitable Heavy, Scout, Supply and Medic Mandalorians. The Mandalorian Jetpack returned alongside the Amban Sniper Rifle and dual WESTAR-34 Blaster Pistols. This was a later stage of the season, not the opening May 2 experience.

From May 29, one portal per match led to a Star Destroyer control room. Reaching it became another contested objective. When watching a recording, assess more than the turbolaser's strength: consider what the team risked approaching the portal and who still controlled its previous position.

Alignment Quests: personal progression and the community choice

These quests appeared in the Alignment tab of the Battle Royale menu. Embrace the Light and Turn to the Dark separated the two sides' objectives, while My Alignment and Galactic Alignment displayed different progression layers. Completing a personal objective and advancing the shared meter were therefore different things: finishing an action did not mean the next community stage was already open.

The opening Light Side personal stage displayed a 0/10 counter, a 10,000 XP reward and the label Stage 1 of 20. This distinguished an individual quest from a stage reward. Both sides' community tracks displayed Stage 1 of 4; later stages could remain locked behind a timer. Treating these as twenty personal objectives available simultaneously, or four immediate rewards, would have been a mistake.

Concrete Light Side examples show why reading the conditions before landing mattered:

  • Travel 1,000 distance at the Resistance Base or Rebel Outposts for 3,000 XP. The specified area mattered; moving anywhere on the island was not the same objective.

  • Travel 5,000 distance in any X-wing for 3,000 XP. This was a separate vehicle objective, so moving on foot around the base did not replace it.

Before a match, select the relevant card, check its location, action and counter, then mark it for tracking. After completion, inspect the personal stage and the shared track's timer separately. When reviewing an old match, distinguish these layers from the pass: a particular quest reward, a stage bonus and the community choice answered different questions. These examples describe Galactic Battle's historical interface rather than a quest chain available today.

The Pass and Twitch Drops: historical conditions

The Star Wars Battle Pass contained free and premium rewards. The announced premium access price was 1,000 V-Bucks, or access through Fortnite Crew. Listed Outfits included Apprentice Evie, Poe Dameron, Wookiee Team Leader and Emperor Palpatine; General Grievous became unlockable later in May through additional objectives. Apprentice Evie unlocked immediately after purchasing the Pass or accessing it through Crew.

Pass progression was available from May 2 until June 7, 2025, Eastern Time. XP could be earned across Fortnite experiences, but seeing an old reward listing today does not mean its former progression path is available again.

A separate Twitch campaign ran from May 2 at 9 AM ET until May 5 at 9 AM ET. Fifteen cumulative viewing minutes awarded the Galactic Duel Loading Screen; one cumulative hour awarded Anakin's Model Jedi Interceptor Back Bling. Players needed to link Epic and Twitch before claiming a Drop and claim it through Twitch Inventory. Those windows have ended; watching an old broadcast today does not meet the former time-window conditions.

How to analyze a historical match

While watching, select one transition between objectives: landing to training, a boss fight to safety, or combat to a starfighter. Check which resources the player gained and what they paid in time, health, position or map visibility. This explains the outcome more clearly than judging only the elimination count.

Galactic Battle's basic decision loop was clear: choose weapons for your engagement distance, learn Force powers separately from acquiring a saber, weigh a Medallion's visibility cost and choose your next objective around the Storm. This explains decisions in old matches without promising a return of the past season.
