Galactic Battle 2025 Weapons: Historical Role Rankings

ByTimodeus

Last Updated:26 Feb 2026

Galactic Battle changed familiar weapon choices: blasters required attention to overheating, while a lightsaber could form part of a kit with trained Force abilities. A list treating the rarest item as automatically strongest does little to explain what to carry.

This is a historical analysis of the Star Wars season that began May 2, 2025 and whose pass progression ended June 7, 2025. It does not claim these items currently spawn in ordinary Battle Royale. Later additions are separated from the launch selection.

The editorial ranking considers weapon roles, versatility and gaps in your loadout. Use it to choose a primary range, a complementary slot and a useful upgrade, rather than sorting items solely by rarity.

How to read the priorities

A means a useful foundation for the relevant task. B means a working alternative or specialized tool. Force abilities and explosives are separate: their value is not measured in the same way as a primary blaster. Items within a group are not ordered by descending damage.

Priority

Launch-selection weapons

Reason to choose

A: general foundation

A280-CFE; DC-15

Versatile role or an emphasis on accuracy

A: distance

IQA-11

Designed for long-range engagements

B: close to medium range

DLT-19

Supports a plan at more limited distances

B: close combat

ACP; BARM-ST12; CR-2

Answers close engagements rather than replacing distance coverage

B: opening and backup

DL-44; E-11; F-11

Use available loot, then assess gaps

Special task

Lightsaber; Thermal Imploder

Defense/movement/Force or cover destruction

Do not discard a working weapon solely because of its letter. Early on, gaining the ability to defend yourself matters more than running unarmed toward a preferred item. Compare the role and battle situation rather than only the rarity color.

General-purpose blasters: A280-CFE and DC-15

The season announcement describes the A280-CFE Blaster Rifle as all-purpose. It is a logical starting point when you need a primary tool and the remaining slots are undecided. Choose a comfortable distance and cover first, then add something for a close or distant target.

DC-15 is a highly accurate heavy blaster rifle. Choose it for a fight where you can keep a target in your sights: take cover, wait for a clear firing line and stop the sequence when the opponent disappears.

If you already carry one of these, another similar primary must solve an actual problem. Covering another distance or preserving a recovery item can be more useful than collecting several weapons with overlapping jobs.

IQA-11 and DLT-19 serve different distances

The IQA-11 Marksman Blaster Rifle is a long-range weapon. It suits controlling open space when you can observe a target without immediately entering a building. Before firing, decide where to go once your position is exposed.

DLT-19 is specified for close-to-medium range. Do not assess it as a universal replacement for a distance weapon. It serves a different role while moving between cover, so usefulness follows your route rather than an abstract argument about the best rifle.

With IQA-11, preserve an answer to a close approach. With DLT-19, decide whether a long-distance exchange is necessary at all. Refusing an unsuitable fight can help more than replacing one working blaster with another.

ACP, BARM-ST12 and CR-2 for close engagements

ACP Scatter Blaster and BARM-ST12 Scatter Blaster are officially close-range weapons. This ranking places them in the same practical group: choose around your familiar shooting style and an available exit. First decide how to enter the engagement and where to retreat between shots.

CR-2 is an SMG-style blaster for close engagements. Use it while an opponent remains in your firing line, but watch overheating: stopping a sequence in time keeps the weapon ready for your next peek.

Before entering a room, identify your stopping point and retreat. Carrying a close-range weapon does not require continuing forward. If teammates cannot support you, changing items will not fix an isolated push.

DL-44, E-11 and F-11: respect opening loot

DL-44 is a blaster pistol, E-11 is the Empire’s standard issue and F-11 is the First Order’s standard issue in the launch announcement. Each gives you an opening weapon while you assemble the rest of your loadout.

If you find one first, secure a safe position and check the immediate threat. Later, compare it with your required loadout role. Do not move a fight to an uncomfortable distance merely to use an item placed higher in a list.

Phasma’s Mythic blaster and Medallion

Defeating Captain Phasma at First Order Base awarded the Mythic Captain Phasma’s F-11D Blaster and Phasma’s Blaster Medallion. That offered a separate upgrade opportunity, but its value included the boss-fight risk, time spent and activity around the base.

Historical season: Phasma’s rewards included a Mythic blaster and a Medallion with both a benefit and visibility cost.

The Medallion extended the time before blasters overheated and reduced cooling time. Medallions also revealed your presence on opponents’ minimaps; carrying more made the location radius more precise. Its useful benefit therefore came with a visibility consequence.

Plan the route after obtaining the reward. If the next step involves a long exposed crossing, that visibility can change the entire route. Do not expect a Mythic name to compensate for missing cover and support.

Lightsabers: separate the weapon from training

A held lightsaber allowed blaster-bolt deflection, faster sprinting and a double jump with fall-damage immunity. A looted saber did not transfer its owner’s Force ability. The ability belonged to the trained player, who needed an equipped lightsaber to use it; the saber did not have to be the one earned through training.

Rey training granted Force Push, Palpatine granted Force Lightning, and defeating Darth Vader Samurai unlocked Force Saber Throw. Mace Windu with Force Pull and Darth Maul with Force Throw were announced for May 8. Throwing the saber and throwing surrounding objects are distinct abilities.

Assess a saber-plus-trained-ability kit separately from a simple looted blade. Choose the ability for its job - moving an opponent, affecting the environment or creating a retreat opportunity - rather than treating every red blade as the same set of powers.

Thermal Imploder and overheating management

Thermal Imploder caused a powerful blast that destroyed nearby structures after activation. Its role was affecting cover and space. Throwing it required a safe position of your own; do not stand nearby waiting for the result. It was not a primary blaster to compare solely by shooting accuracy.

Watch blaster heat and take breaks behind cover. Before exposing yourself again, assess weapon readiness and your response to a close approach. Holding the trigger is not a pressure strategy by itself if it leaves you without a working answer at the decisive moment.

Enhanced versions and later additions

Enhanced A280-CFE, Enhanced IQA-11 and Enhanced DL-44 have distinct bonuses. The functions below are compared using later game definitions. Historical acquisition of Enhanced A280-CFE through the Train Heist and Enhanced IQA-11 by trading with Grievous is not established here; inclusion in the Star Wars island catalog alone does not establish availability in 2025 Battle Royale.

Enhanced A280-CFE enhances critical damage. That makes it a choice for accurate hits rather than a reason to remain exposed longer just to deal any damage. If a target repeatedly disappears, choose a brief, useful firing opportunity and preserve the option to return to cover.

Enhanced IQA-11 improves cooling, allowing longer firing before overheating. Its benefit concerns the length of a firing sequence, so watch the blaster’s state and before retreating, avoid starting another exchange when the blaster is already close to overheating. A longer sequence does not make a long-range role a convenient answer to an unexpected close approach.

Enhanced DL-44 enhances damage while aiming down sights. When choosing the pistol, prepare your aiming line before exposing yourself to the target; do not expect hipfire to deliver the specific aiming-mode bonus.

The season also had an expansion schedule: Wookiee Bowcaster and CA-87 Jawa Scatter Blaster were announced for May 15, followed by Amban Sniper Rifle and dual WESTAR-34 on May 22. They should not be described as simultaneously available during the May 2 opening drop. Establish the date and mode when reviewing old footage.

Build a loadout around roles

  1. Choose the main distance: general-purpose, long-range or close-to-medium.

  2. Add an answer for the distance your primary covers less effectively.

  3. Assess a saber with your training or a cover-destruction tool.

  4. Preserve room for recovery and movement according to the match plan.

  5. Check overheating, a retreat route and mode restrictions before another fight.

Tournaments had separate restrictions: TIE fighters and X-wings were excluded, while the original Thermal Imploder exclusion was reversed in the May 2 announcement update. Even a historical list therefore cannot be transferred between ordinary matches and competition without checking the rules for the relevant day.
