Fortnite Pacific Break weapons: tier list and range-based choices
In Pacific Break, weapon selection is easiest to start with two jobs: dealing damage at medium range and finishing a close fight. The Deadeye Assault Rifle and Iron Pump Shotgun illustrate that separation, but this selection is not limited to two names. All ten weapons are examined below, including returning weapons and a movement-focused blade.
This is a historical guide to Chapter 7 Season 1, which began on November 29, 2025. It does not present Pacific Break’s arsenal as the current pool for every Fortnite queue. Balance also changed within the season: launch impressions should not automatically be applied to a later patch.
The ratings below are editorial role-based priorities, not a measured tournament ranking or a promise of a particular elimination time. Compare weapons at the same rarity and under equivalent conditions. A comfortable alternative with ammunition and a clear fighting range is more useful than a list favourite that costs you your position.
The Pacific Break arsenal
At launch, Epic introduced the Iron Pump Shotgun, Twin Hammer Shotguns, Deadeye Assault Rifle, Holo Rush SMG, Vengeful Sniper Rifle, Arc-Lightning Gun and Forsaken Vow Blade. The Enforcer AR, Tactical Pistol and Dual Micro SMGs returned to the pool. Those are the ten entries covered here; shotguns and SMGs fill different jobs, while the blade should not be assessed solely by duel damage.
For gunplay, the chapter added smoother ADS transitions and saved reload progress when the magazine was empty. If switching items interrupted that reload, it could resume. This is no reason to expose yourself with an empty magazine: check weapon readiness before rotating or attacking.
A role-based tier list: interpreting the ratings
Rating | Selection | Meaning |
|---|---|---|
S | Deadeye Assault Rifle; Iron Pump Shotgun | First candidates for primary ranged and close-fight roles |
A | Enforcer AR; Twin Hammer Shotguns; Tactical Pistol | Workable alternatives for a comfortable firing rhythm |
B | Dual Micro SMGs; Holo Rush SMG; Vengeful Sniper Rifle | Supplementary or specialist jobs; check what you replace |
C | Arc-Lightning Gun | Situational electrical support rather than a universal primary weapon |
D | Unassigned | No basis for treating every example as inherently useless |
Separate | Forsaken Vow Blade | Movement and melee tool; compare it with the mobility slot |
S does not mean a mandatory pickup at every rarity, and B does not prohibit endgame use. If you confidently use a sniper and the team covers close fights, a specialist slot can be justified. A common mistake is carrying several items for one job and leaving no recovery or escape option.
Deadeye Assault Rifle: primary range control
The Deadeye is a scoped automatic rifle designed for accurate hits at medium and long distances. Consider it the basis of your ranged loadout: take a covered angle, fire at an available target and retain the ability to stop aiming and move. A scope helps select the impact point but narrows your attention to the immediate sight picture.
Repeatable tracking matters more than a claim of absolutely zero recoil. Stop sustained fire if you lose the target, regain control and check another angle. In v39.11 Epic reduced the Deadeye’s hip-fire accuracy and slightly increased ADS recoil. Mythic rarity does not justify assigning arbitrary extra bonuses. Compare the specific variant rather than one word in its name.

The Deadeye fills a ranged role; the image does not establish exact statistics for a particular rarity.
Iron Pump Shotgun: a close shot from cover
The Iron Pump is a heavy-hitting pump shotgun. It suits a plan of opening an angle, firing and closing it again when contact can be prepared. In a building fight, account for your own edit; in Zero Build, use a wall edge or terrain rather than remaining exposed to continuous return fire.
Do not plan a duel around a guaranteed single-headshot elimination: the result depends on the specific variant, balance and hit. After an incomplete shot, you need a next step: cover, a weapon switch or continued pressure with a teammate. Having that step ready matters more than a promise of the game’s fastest elimination.

A pump shotgun for a prepared close-range shot; the result depends on the variant and hit.
Enforcer AR: an alternative rifle role
The Enforcer AR returned to this pool and remains a separate rifle-slot candidate. If tracking through the Deadeye’s scope feels uncomfortable, compare the Enforcer in the same scene: several medium-range targets, changing cover and shooting after movement. Do not swap it merely because another entry appears higher in the table.
In v39.11 the Enforcer gained slightly more damage and tighter ADS accuracy. Check the firing rhythm that preserves accuracy and the distance at which useful hits become unreliable. An advantage in one shot does not replace landing it. A practical loadout also needs ammunition and a second weapon ready when distance closes.
Twin Hammer Shotguns: a paired close-range job
The Twin Hammer Shotguns are dual-wielded pump shotguns for close range. Choose them to learn their own firing sequence rather than transferring the single Iron Pump’s rhythm without checking. Practise contact around a corner and stopping the attack when the opponent reaches cover.
Paired weapons do not make a direct approach across exposed ground safe. Find an approach before closing and assess whether a teammate can support it. If one prepared shot followed by withdrawal suits you better, the Iron Pump can remain the more comfortable option regardless of another player’s rating.
Tactical Pistol: a spare slot needs a purpose
The returning Tactical Pistol can be considered a compact alternative in a shooting loadout. Give it a clear purpose: finish contact after another weapon or cover a distance at which you land shots confidently. Do not keep a pistol until the final stage purely because the opening went well if its job is already fully covered.
When comparing it with an SMG, assess your accuracy against a moving target and ability to reposition after firing rather than an attractive theoretical DPS figure. No universal headshot multiplier is used here without a verified variant. Choose a repeatable action rather than a promise that a pistol replaces every rifle.
Dual Micro SMGs and Holo Rush SMG: separate solutions
Dual Micro SMGs. The paired SMGs returned in Pacific Break. In v39.11 they received faster reloads, a larger magazine and improved damage retention at range. Consider them for continuing a close attack if the team and your primary slot already cover other distances. Check the magazine and escape route before contact: even comfortable weapons cannot help if sustained pressure ends in a reload in exposed space.
Holo Rush SMG. This fast scoped SMG was introduced for tight engagements. Its longer-range damage increased in v39.11. A scope does not automatically make it a long-range rifle. Compare nearby shooting with tracking a distant target and give it a clear job. Avoid filling another similar slot if that leaves no recovery or mobility.
Vengeful Sniper Rifle: account for balance changes
The Vengeful is a bolt-action sniper rifle. Consider it for a prepared long-range shot: choose the firing lane and alternative cover in advance. Waiting for a suitable target is useful only while you remain aware of zone movement and the team’s position.
In v39.11 Epic increased the Vengeful’s base and headshot damage. An early claim that it can never eliminate with one hit at any rarity cannot therefore be applied to the entire season. This guide does not repeat old damage figures or a universal D-tier verdict. After a buff, check the specific variant rather than arguing from launch impressions.
Arc-Lightning Gun: players, vehicles and builds
The Arc-Lightning Gun affects players, vehicles and builds with electricity. Choose it for a specific available target: an opponent, a vehicle or a build. Before attacking, decide what affecting that target will change and which cover you can work from. Avoid spending time on a build when the immediate task is helping a teammate against an exposed opponent.
If your primary rifle and close weapon already cover the required distances, compare the Arc-Lightning’s usefulness with healing or mobility in the remaining slot. Take an extra weapon when you can name its job in the next engagement; otherwise retain an item that helps recovery or positioning. The C rating represents that situational choice rather than a prohibition on using the weapon.
Forsaken Vow Blade and supporting items
The Forsaken Vow Blade combined quick dashes with rapid melee strikes. Epic specifically compared its movement with a faster entry or exit than the Kinetic Blade. A useful plan is reaching the next cover or leaving a poor angle while keeping a shooting weapon ready after movement. Chasing a wounded player should not leave you among several opponents.
A Wingsuit helped launch upward and glide towards another position. This is a movement tool rather than another weapon; choose the landing point in advance. A Self-Revive Device allowed recovery from DBNO when it was in the inventory. Before rotating, check that you still carry it after changing your loadout. Plan acquisition around a specific available find or offer rather than assuming a universal gold purchase.
Building a loadout and answering “best weapon” questions
Start with a ranged foundation and a close-fight answer, then add recovery and suitable movement. Deadeye plus Iron Pump is an understandable starting pair for learning different distances; Enforcer and Twin Hammer let you compare another rhythm. Choose the last slot around an actual remaining task rather than the number of S ratings.
Answer accuracy questions through conditions: distance, aiming and your ability to track the target. Answer fastest-elimination questions through weapon variant, target protection and hit quality. Maximum potential damage, DPS and the result of one accurate shot are not the same measure.
If you find a favourite early, collect it without sacrificing position and check ammunition. If it lies under fire, keep a workable alternative. Deadeye and Iron Pump do not compete for one distance: a good loadout combines strengths rather than trying to name one winner for every fight.
