Genshin Impact Frost Moon Chests: Map and Access Guide
Frost Moon chests are found on a separate explorable Genshin Impact map. This is not Nod-Krai’s Frostmoon Enclave or a limited winter event. Begin by unlocking the lunar area through Moon Gazing, then explore its accessible routes, stations, and interiors.
Walking straight toward every marker is particularly ineffective here. A reward can sit inside a quest room, on an island reached through a transit station, or beneath objects that need attention first. Opening the relevant routes saves repeated attempts from an unsuitable approach.
This guide covers Frost Moon access, an exploration order, and specific difficult chest examples. Direct map pins are used as a category reference rather than a promised complete inventory. Rewards from separate puzzles can appear under other map categories.

Use the unlocked waypoint near Dunanna Pit, southwest of Nod-Krai’s Misty Shoal.
Progress through Moon Gazing until Frost Moon becomes accessible.
Select the separate Frost Moon map and establish available travel points.
Access to the Dunanna Pit waypoint does not mean every lunar interior is open. Follow the quest chain and inspect new side routes as you progress. When a passage is blocked, record its condition and continue with accessible areas instead of trying to bypass the story barrier from outside.
Frostmoon Enclave remains a separate Meeting Point on mainland Nod-Krai. Similar names can misdirect a search, so check the actual selected map before comparing markers rather than relying on an old list’s heading.

These figures describe the separate Frost Moon map as checked on 15 October 2026. The sum of 74 is not a total for every chest obtainable through exploration. Mechanisms, quests, and puzzles can represent their rewards through other categories. Do not use this counter as proof of complete clearance.
The same map also contains 74 Lunoculus pins. The matching numbers do not connect the two checklists: they describe different collectible categories. Collecting an Oculus does not complete the nearby chest and must not reduce the treasure list. Select the intended filter before comparing progress.

Start with the connected area surrounding your current quest objective. Inspect its entrance, room, and exit before moving on. Once useful transportation is open, return to isolated islands and deferred rewards. This is an organizational order rather than a mandatory chest-by-chest sequence.
For layered interiors, record the required floor as well as the marker. If the icon appears beneath your character, inspect the neighboring level and room entrance. Another surface circuit will not help when the reward sits behind an interior door.
The Precious Chest at the capture station
When you reach the Space Lifeform Capture Station, inspect the first arrival platform. A Precious Chest stands beside the quest route. The illustration shows the chest near the station passage, making it a convenient reward to check before continuing down the corridor.
If returning later, match the entrance area and surroundings instead of using only the flat-map icon. Mark the chest after opening it. Visiting the station during a quest does not automatically collect every reward near the initial platform.

An island and a pile of Ancient Moon Pearls
Another Precious Chest requires opening a Transit Station that provides access to a small island. If a direct approach repeatedly falls short, return to transportation progression rather than retrying the same jump. The access requirement matters more than the island looking close on the map.
Another group of chests sits beneath a pile of Ancient Moon Pearls on a floating island. Access is associated with repairing the high-speed transit station. After the repair, reach the island and inspect beneath the pearls. The illustration shows several rewards, so update each individual marker.
Group these locations into a return trip after transportation is available. Before repairing the station, record the actual reason the route is inaccessible. This prevents the next exploration session from being spent testing the same blocked approach again.

Quests and local reward systems
Unlocking the area during Moon Gazing also makes Ancient Moon’s Remnants available at Nuur Stone Circle and Curtain-Form Blackbody Containment Lab. These locations offer Origin of the Sequence and Beneath the Lunar Sea. Finish the associated quests to develop the two systems using Luna Sigils.
For the Luxurious Chest associated with Project Moongazer progression, check the actual quest stage. Do not try to open the reward before its related event. If the chain was completed earlier, inspect its accessible rooms and compare the chest’s state with your record.
Offering progression and opening an individual chest are different actions. Do not complete every nearby marker after increasing a system’s level. Cleanup requires a record of objects actually opened rather than only completed quests or spent sigils.

Why can I not reach a small island?
Check the relevant transit station and quest access. Not every target has a convenient direct approach.
