Alchemy Overview Guide: Perks, Gold-Making, and Changes for MoP Classic

Learning Alchemy in Mists of Pandaria Classic
In MoP Classic, you can train Alchemy all the way to 600 in your faction’s main city—Stormwind City for Alliance, or Orgrimmar for Horde. You can also find a Zen Master Alchemist trainer in Paw-don Village, Jade Forest.
Level requirement: You must be at least level 80 to train as a Zen Master Alchemist.
Trainer recipes: Only two recipes are available directly from trainers at level 500; all other recipes are learned through discoveries.
Tip: There’s limited benefit to leveling Alchemy above 500 before the expansion launch, as crafting level 500 potions is required for discoveries, and these become green (less effective for skill-ups) by 525.

Making Gold with Alchemy in MoP Classic
Alchemy is a lucrative profession, especially if you have multiple alts specializing in different areas.
Key Transmutation: Transmute: Living Steel requires 6 Trillium Bars and has a daily cooldown, making it a prime gold-making transmute.
Consumables: Potions, flasks, and other consumables are in high demand, especially early in the expansion and right after raid resets.
Specialize your alchemist in Potions, Transmutations, or Elixirs to maximize your gold-making potential.
Tip: Don’t forget materials have a time cost, so price your crafted goods accordingly.
