Dastardly Duos Overview and Rewards Guide
Dastardly Duos is a new weekly challenge where players team up in groups of up to 5 to defeat waves of bosses and accumulate points. This time-limited event lasts for six weeks, offering a variety of rewards. The event begins on June 3rd and runs until July 14th.
You can start the event at hubs in Dornogal, Stormwind, or Orgrimmar. Each hub has NPCs and a podium displaying player high scores. To enter, talk to Xyggie Marou who will teleport you into the instance. You can enter solo or with up to four others, and NPCs will fill any empty slots.
Inside the arena, you’ll find important locations and resources to help you succeed. One key feature is food buffs, which offer different advantages but only one can be active at once. Speak with Wodin at the hub to activate:
-
Cake From a Fan: 65% movement speed boost
-
Beefy Burger: 15% increased damage and reduced damage taken
-
"Challenging" Hot Dog: Boosts points but causes knockbacks
-
Hearty Haunch: Reduces physical and magical damage but lowers damage dealt (not usable by tanks)
-
"Challenging" Shrimpy Fish: Increases points but makes you take more damage
You will also have access to three different potions, but only one can be used at a time:
-
Vial of Healing: Restores 6% max health every 6 seconds
-
Bottle of Invisibility: Turns you invisible until attacked or attacking
-
Can of Amps: Boosts movement speed by 65%
Xyggie Marou in the arena lets you remove NPC teammates, increasing difficulty but allowing you to keep all points earned.
When ready, approach the gates and confirm to start the event. A 10-second countdown begins before waves of enemies spawn. The first wave is trash mobs, and you have 5 minutes to clear them before the timer expires or you fail to progress.
After clearing adds, the first pair of bosses appear simultaneously. They have few mechanics but can combine abilities to reduce healing effectiveness. Defeat them to spawn the next two bosses. The event duration varies by week, sometimes ending after the second pair.
The event timer can be extended by activating gears that appear during boss fights. Additionally, completing the event may reward Burner Clocks which add 30 seconds when used.
Scoring is based on damage dealt, completion speed, and avoiding deaths. Bonus points come from interacting with Cheery bombs around the arena which, when fully charged, double points gained. Using special foods also grants bonus points.
Points serve for bragging rights but don’t affect rewards.
Each week offers a quest to complete the event, granting a random champion track item as a reward. These quests are account-wide and should be done on characters who need the upgrades.
Weekly quest rewards include:
Quest Week | Reward |
Week 1 | Dastardly Banner |
Week 2 | Winner's Podium |
Week 3 | Mean-Ball Ball Bag |
Week 5 | Tyrannotort's Treat |
Every completion grants a piece of veteran warbound gear matching your character’s armor type. You’ll also receive items to boost points:
-
Burner Clock: Adds 30 seconds to the timer, 3-minute cooldown
-
Bullhorn of Calling: Summons extra enemy waves (or bosses after week 3)
A vendor named Wodin the Troll-Servant sells cosmetic items for Resonance Crystals. Wodin is found on the Isle of Dorn at coordinates 52.74, 51.39. Some items unlock only after week 3 or 4.
