Season 2 Guide for Holy Paladin (Raids, Mythic+, Talents & Gear)
Holy Paladin Overview:

Holy Paladin is a plate-clad healer with access to strong spot healing and defensive abilities. Their core healing revolves around Beacon of Light, available at level 16, letting you continuously heal one target while casting on others.
They use Mana and a secondary resource, Holy Power, generated by abilities and spent on high-impact heals like Word of Glory and Light of Dawn.

Strengths:
Powerful spot healing for single targets
High survivability with immunity effects
Strong external defensives (Blessing of Sacrifice, Blessing of Protection)
Access to Aura Mastery for raid-wide mitigation
Weaknesses:
Poor mobility
Holy Power is less intuitive
Low control over Mana use
Requires stacked groups for max healing output
Stat Priority (Raids):
Intellect > Haste = Mastery > Crit > Versatility
Stat Priority (Mythic+):
Intellect > Haste > Crit > Versatility > Mastery
Patch 11.1.0 Changes:
The Lightsmith build was nerfed, especially Hammer and Anvil and Blessed Assurance, reducing the effectiveness of Avenging Crusader. Buffs to Holy Shock, Word of Glory, and Light of Dawn increased the potency of rotational healing.
Light’s Conviction now refunds Mana when casting Holy Shock offensively.
This makes Herald of the Sun + Avenging Wrath the dominant setup again for both raids and Mythic+.
Hero Talents:
Herald of the Sun: Enhances Avenging Wrath, applies Dawnlight, and connects you with targets through Sun’s Avatar beams. Best for burst healing in stacked groups.
Lightsmith: Grants defensive tools like Holy Bulwark and Sacred Weapon. Easier to manage positioning but less burst potential.
Recommended: Use Herald of the Sun for both raids and Mythic+. Use Lightsmith only in encounters with poor group stacking.
Rotation Tips:
Holy Paladins use a priority system, not a strict rotation.
Always spend Holy Power — use Word of Glory or Light of Dawn; if no healing is needed, use Shield of the Righteous for damage.
ABC: Always Be Casting — fill every GCD with a spell.
Keep Holy Shock on cooldown. It generates Holy Power, triggers Infusion of Light, and has great healing efficiency.
BiS Gear:
Best in Slot Recommendations:
Weapons: High Intellect weapons with Haste/Crit
Trinkets: Prioritize healing throughput trinkets with passive bonuses or on-use effects
Cyrce’s Circlet and Corruption remain top-tier headgear
Consumables:
Use Intellect-based food and flasks
Use Haste or Mastery potions depending on encounter needs
Professions:
Professions offer little performance advantage. Choose freely based on utility:
Blacksmithing – craft gear close to BiS
Alchemy – make your own potions and flasks
Enchanting – self-supply gear enchants
Best Races for Holy Paladin:
Alliance: Human, Dwarf, Dark Iron Dwarf, Draenei, Lightforged Draenei, Earthen
Horde: Blood Elf, Tauren, Zandalari Troll
Race choice has minimal impact — choose for aesthetics or fantasy preference.
