Legendary Cloak Walkthrough & Rewards Breakdown

Chapter I: Trial of the Black Prince

Phase one opens with the questline that awards a Sha-Touched gem. These powerful gems only fit in Sha-Touched weapons found in Terrace of Endless Spring, Heart of Fear, or two weeks post-raid launch in Celestial Dungeons. The options are:

• Crystallized Dread: +500 Agility

• Crystallized Terror: +500 Strength

• Crystallized Horror: +500 Intellect

Chapter II: Wrathion's War

In phase two, players earn the Eye of the Black Prince, an item that adds a prismatic socket to either Sha-Touched weapons or the Armament of the Thunder King. These can be looted from Terrace of Endless Spring, Heart of Fear, and later Celestial Dungeons. Armament of the Thunder King drops from Throne of Thunder or its Celestial Dungeon variant.

Chapter III: Two Princes

Released with phase three, this chapter rewards one of four unique legendary meta gems usable in helms with a base ilvl of 502+. Each gem has a distinctive passive:

• Indomitable Primal Diamond: +324 Stamina, with chance to reduce damage taken by 20% when hit

• Courageous Primal Diamond: +324 Intellect, chance for 0 mana spells on beneficial cast

• Capacitive Primal Diamond: +324 Crit, melee/ranged attacks may gain Capacitance

• Sinister Primal Diamond: +324 Crit, spell damage can trigger 30% haste boost

Chapter IV: Celestial Blessings

This phase grants access to six ilvl 600 epic cloaks:

• Oxhorn Bladebreaker

• Oxhoof Greatcloak

• Jadefire Drape

• Cranewing Cloak

• Tigerclaw Cape

• Tigerfang Wrap

Players can earn these by passing a role-based Celestial challenge and speaking to all four Celestials at Pandaria temples. Additional cloaks cost 10,000 gold.

Chapter V: Judgment of the Black Prince

In the final phase, players can upgrade their cloak to a legendary version using the Timeless Essence of the Black Dragonflight, gained after defeating the four August Celestials and collecting 5,000 Timeless Coins.

Upgraded cloaks include:

• Qian-Le (Tank)

• Qian-Ying (Tank)

• Xing-Ho (Caster DPS)

• Jina-Kang (Healer)

• Fen-Yu (Melee DPS)

• Gong-Lu (Melee DPS)

Each has a unique proc effect. This upgrade unlocks Ordos on Timeless Isle for all your account’s characters.

Chapter I Walkthrough:

Start at the Veiled Stair's Tavern in the Mists. Alliance players can begin via Brewmaster Tsu in Shrine of Seven Stars, Horde via Kurong Caskhead in Shrine of Two Moons. Wrathion gives the first quest.

• "Stranger in a Strange Land" – meet Wrathion.

• "A Legend in the Making" – listen to Wrathion.

• "Trial of the Black Prince" – earn Honored with The Black Prince.

• "The Strength of One’s Foes" – collect 10 Sigils of Power and 10 of Wisdom from raids.

• "Fear Itself" – defeat the Sha of Fear or Sha of Doubt for the Chimera of Fear/Doubt.

Completing this chain awards one of the three Sha-Touched gems.

Chapter II Walkthrough:

Once your naval forces reach Pandaria’s southern coast, begin with the quest chain at Krasarang Wilds. Alliance players start by speaking with Lyalia in Vale of Eternal Blossoms, who sends you to Scout Lynna at Krasarang Cove.

• Complete "Meet the Scout" to trigger further quests.

• Join King Varian to meet Marshal Troteman and Hilda Hornswaggle, and eliminate 25 Horde.

• Use the Flare Launcher at the Cove to summon your fleet.

Return to Wrathion in the Veiled Stair to continue. Next up are two quests you can do simultaneously:

• Reach Revered reputation with The Black Prince by defeating Horde enemies in southern Krasarang.

• Earn 3,000 Valor Points for the "A Test of Valor" quest.

After both are done, Wrathion sends you on:

• "The Prince's Pursuit" – kill Warlord Bloodhilt at Domination Point (group required).

• "Glory to the Alliance" – win matches at Temple of Kotmogu and Silvershard Mines.

Speak with Wrathion to receive the Eye of the Black Prince. It adds a prismatic socket to Sha-Touched weapons or Armaments of the Thunder King.

Chapter III: Two Princes

To unlock this chapter, you need to have progressed to the Isle of Thunder via the questline starting with:

• Alliance: Report to Scout Captain Elsia at the Shado-Pan Garrison in Townlong Steppes.

• Horde: Report to Vereesa Windrunner at the Shado-Pan Garrison in Townlong Steppes.

Next, meet Wrathion on the second floor of the Tavern in the Mists at the Veiled Stair.

You will receive two quests that can be done simultaneously:

• Earn Exalted reputation with The Black Prince by defeating Mogu, Zandalari, and Saurok enemies on the Isle of Thunder.
  Using items like Battle Standard of Coordination can boost reputation gains.

• Collect 20 Secrets of the Empire and 40 Trillium Bars.
  Secrets of the Empire drop from raid bosses in Throne of Thunder. Trillium Bars can be crafted via Transmute: Trillium Bar or Smelt Trillium.

Continue through the Isle of Thunder until you reach the Thunder Forge. Meet Wrathion outside and complete his task.

Then, reach the final courtyard and obtain the Tempered Lightning Lance by plunging it into Storm Lord Nalak and surviving long enough to absorb his power.

Finally, return to Wrathion atop Mason’s Folly to claim your reward.

Reward: Choose one of these meta gems (usable only in helms with a base item level of 502 or higher):

• Indomitable Primal Diamond: +324 Stamina; chance to reduce damage taken by 20% when hit.

• Courageous Primal Diamond: +324 Intellect; chance on beneficial spell to make spells cost no mana for 4 seconds.

• Capacitive Primal Diamond: +324 Critical Strike; chance on melee or ranged hit to gain Capacitance.

• Sinister Primal Diamond: +324 Critical Strike; chance on spell damage to gain 30% spell haste.

Additional meta gems can be purchased from the Blacktalon Quartermaster in the Veiled Stair for 5 Primal Diamonds each.

To finish this chapter and advance to Chapter IV, complete these two final quests:

• Collect 12 Titan Runestones from raid bosses in Halls of Flesh-Shaping and Pinnacle of Storms (the last six bosses of Throne of Thunder).

• Defeat the Thunder King in the Halls of Thunder and obtain the Heart of the Thunder King.

Chapter V: The Heart of the Thunder

This is the final chapter in the legendary cloak questline — the culmination of your efforts, unlocking the cloak’s ultimate power.

Starting Point:
Return once more to Wrathion at the Veiled Stair. He will reveal the final secret: the Heart of the Thunder, an ancient power sealed deep within the Throne of Thunder’s final boss, Lei Shen, the Thunder King himself.

Key Quests and Objectives:

• Quest: The Heart of the Thunder
  Wrathion charges you with defeating Lei Shen in the Throne of Thunder raid to claim the Heart of the Thunder.

• Quest: Binding the Heart
  After Lei Shen drops the Heart of the Thunder artifact, you must complete a special ritual (usually a small dungeon or scenario event) to bind the Heart’s power into your cloak.

• Quest: Master of Storms
  Final test — use your empowered cloak to defeat a challenging elite or world boss, proving mastery of the cloak’s power.

Final Reward:

• The Legendary Cloak, Fully Empowered

  • Maximal stat boosts (intellect, agility, or strength depending on your class)

  • A unique legendary proc that drastically impacts your gameplay (e.g., massive burst damage, healing over time, or damage mitigation)

  • Customizable visual effects: electric storms crackling around the cloak, glowing runes, or thunderous auras.

Tips for the Final Chapter:

• Coordinating with a strong raid team for the Lei Shen encounter is critical; his mechanics are challenging.

• The ritual binding may require specific items or a timed scenario — prepare consumables and buffs.

• Once fully empowered, your cloak becomes one of the most powerful legendary items in the game.
