What Butcher's Blasphemy Changed

Marvel Rivals Season 10 went live on September 11, 2026 at 09:00 UTC, with maintenance lasting at least two hours. The season is called Butcher's Blasphemy and is built around one new hero, Gorr the God Butcher, plus a rebuilt Competitive mode. Data is current as of 10/17/2026.

What matters most: ranked hero bans arrived at Gold III and above, Scarlet Witch got a rework, the Battle Pass costs 990 Lattice, and the patch touched roughly 70% of the roster. The Season 10.5 update on October 9 added modes and events, but no new hero.

Next come the heroes, cosmetics, Competitive rules, balance changes, events, and a to-do list for the rest of the season. Season 11.0 is expected around November 13.

Gorr and the Scarlet Witch Rework

Gorr is the only new hero of the season, a melee Duelist. His All-Black Necrosword changes shape into other weapons, such as a bow and a scythe. He summons Black Berserkers and uses Symbiote Assimilation for mobility. If you like an aggressive, high-risk style, he is the pick for you.

Scarlet Witch holding crimson chaos energy

The second big hero story is Scarlet Witch. Her passive now turns 25% of the damage dealt to Chaos Mark enemies into Bonus Health, capped at 50. The new Scarlet Hex fires a 20m by 8m shockwave, deals 40 damage, and applies the mark.

  • Chaos Control: damage dropped from 85 to 75 per second, but it now hits every marked enemy in a 120-degree cone out to 20 meters.

  • Dark Seal: the stun only happens on the first detonation and lasts 0.3 seconds, followed by 20 damage per second and a 30% slow.

  • Mystic Projection: the boost went from 50% down to 35%.

  • Ultimate: windup damage rose from 50 to 80 over 4 seconds within 15 meters.

In practice, Scarlet Witch now plays around marks and a health lead rather than raw burst damage. If you have not touched her in a while, spend time in practice mode before taking her into ranked.

Battle Pass, Skins, and Rewards

The Luxury Battle Pass launched with the season and costs 990 Lattice, about $10. It has 12 pages and 10 premium costumes, including White Fox Cosmic Kumiho, Captain America Astral Aegis, and Loki The Chronicler. Variants for Doctor Strange, Groot, Squirrel Girl, Psylocke, Punisher, Hawkeye, and Blade are in there too.

The free track is worth claiming. Page 4 holds the Hawkeye Thunderbolts costume, and page 10 holds Groot Grootlactus. Gorr's costume is not in the pass: Divine Destroyer is sold as a store bundle.

Store highlights of the season:

  • Divine Destroyer for Gorr, along with Blue Requiem and Gods' Graveyard (a ranked reward);

  • Glittering Goddess for Emma Frost;

  • Dreamy Duo for Cloak and Dagger.

Each bundle comes with an emoji set. Since October 16, Swimsuit Special costumes have been leaving the store in waves, so do not wait too long. If you would rather not chase the looks yourself, there is a skins unlock service.

Competitive: Reset and Hero Bans

Competitive started fresh with placement matches, and the game shows a predicted rank until they are done. To get in at all, you first need the competitive unlock, and for a specific rank target a rank boost fits.

Captain America and Magneto facing each other

The change that affects every match is the ban phase. It applies from Gold III upward and not below. The 1-2-2-1 order gives six bans per match:

  1. Team A bans one hero.

  2. Team B bans two.

  3. Team A bans two more.

  4. Team B bans the last one.

Duplicate bans are blocked, and a banned hero is unavailable to both teams. That makes one-trick play risky in ranked: keep two or three backup picks for every role. For players aiming at the very top of the ladder, One Above All is another route.

Balance: Who Got Stronger and Weaker

The patch touched roughly 70% of the roster. Scarlet Witch and Black Cat got the biggest individual changes, and every Strategist now builds ultimate charge more slowly: healing conversion fell from 70% to 65%, and damage conversion from 55% to 50%.

Black Cat and The Thing in battle poses

Black Cat's Phantom Pursuit no longer grants invincibility. It now gives 50% damage reduction plus Unstoppable. Fortune cost dropped from 300 to 250, and Fortune per hit from 150 to 125.

Map, Events, and Season 10.5 Modes

God Quarry arrived on September 24 with version 20260924 as a Domination map. From September 24 to 29 there was a Quick Match playlist on it alone.

Jeff the Land Shark and Mantis among bright cosmic lights

Galacta's Gift Vol. 3 runs from September 24 until November 13, 2026 at 09:00 UTC. Its reward, the Costume Coin, is spent in the Exchange Store on a base costume for the hero of your choice. If you are working through achievements and one-off rewards, that window is a convenient one.

Jeff's Dream Eater and Jeff's Superstar Seeking started around September 17. In the first, XP earned Dreamcatcher attempts, and in the second, daily missions rewarded a nameplate and an emote. Dream Eater ended around October 15.

Season 10.5 landed on October 9 without a new hero. It added:

  • Infinity War: 2v2 PvP, 12 players in 6 teams, 13 heroes, Wakanda deathmatch rounds, card drafting between rounds, and a random Infinity Stone for each team;

  • Endgame: a 50-player PvE raid, expected around October 22-23;

  • the Infinity Finale and Halloween events, plus the Alchemax Headquarters map for Annihilation.

What to Do Before the Season Ends

There are about four weeks until November 13, enough to cover the essentials. Priorities depend on how you play.

  • For ranked: prepare two or three heroes per role and practice the new Scarlet Witch before she gets banned in your lobby. If progress is slow, coaching from a strong player can help.

  • For your collection: claim the free Hawkeye and Groot costumes, spend the Costume Coin before November 13, and grab swimsuit looks before they leave the store.

  • For quick progress: if time is short, account leveling speeds up the pass, and you can queue with a pro through rent a booster.

The Endgame raid and Halloween should land in late October, so check the new modes right after release. If you missed the first weeks, nothing critical is lost: Battle Pass rewards and the Costume Coin are still available.
