PoE 2: All Permanent Buffs from the Campaign

Overview

The campaign in Path of Exile 2 includes multiple quests and side bosses that reward your character with permanent buffs. These buffs can be easily missed, as the game doesn’t always make them obvious.

Here’s a complete list of all the permanent buffs you can acquire by the end of the campaign (Normal & Cruel):

List of Permanent Buffs

• +20% All Resistances (Note: The Lightning Resistance buff is particularly easy to miss).
• +24 Weapon Set Skill Points (used for Weapon Specializations).
• +100 Spirit.
• +20 Maximum Life.
• +8% increased Maximum Life.

Choice-Based Buffs (can be changed):

• +30% Increased Charm Charges.
• +15% Mana Recovery from Flasks.

Choice-Based Buffs (cannot be changed):

• 25% increased Stun Threshold.
• 30% increased Elemental Ailment Threshold.
• 25% increased Mana Regeneration Rate.

Choice-Based Buffs (cannot be changed):

• +10% Chaos Resistance.
• +5 to All Attributes.
• +15% reduced Slowing Potency Debuffs.

How to Obtain These Buffs

The following sections will outline each source of these permanent buffs and how to acquire them. Unless specified otherwise, permanent buffs are awarded twice: once in the Normal Campaign and again in Cruel. Note that some buffs differ slightly in Cruel difficulty.

Permanent Buff Map Icons

The World Map in Path of Exile 2 provides helpful indicators for content that grants permanent buffs. A small symbol will appear in the bottom left or right corner of the relevant icon. If the task has been completed, the symbol will appear grayed out.

Each player's World Map is procedurally generated, meaning your map will be unique and won’t match another player’s.

Despite this uniqueness, certain icons are standardized to indicate the following:

• Campaign or Optional Bosses: Marked with small skulls.
• Act Bosses: Represented by a large skull.
• Guaranteed Loot Locations: Displayed as chest icons.
• Side Quests: Represented by various other symbols.

Additionally, don’t forget to check the underground map by clicking the button located on the far right of the World Map interface.

Act 1 & Act 4 Permanent Buffs

Here are the permanent buffs you can acquire from optional bosses and quests in Act 1 and Act 4:

Act 1 Buffs

• Clearfell - Beira of The Rotten Pack
  • Reward: +10% Cold Resistance
  • How to Obtain: Defeat the optional boss, Beira of The Rotten Pack.
• Hunting Grounds - Crowbell
  • Reward: +2 Weapon Set Passive Skill Points
  • How to Obtain: Defeat the optional boss, Crowbell.
• Freythorn - The King in the Mists
  • Reward: +30 Spirit
  • How to Obtain: Defeat the optional boss, The King in the Mists.
  • Additional Requirement: Complete the Rituals to summon the boss.
• Ogham Farmlands - Una's Hut
  • Reward: +2 Weapon Set Passive Skill Points
  • How to Obtain: Deliver Una's Lute to Una.
• Ogham Manor - Candlemass, The Living Rite
  • Normal Reward: +20 Maximum Life
  • Cruel Reward: +8% Increased Maximum Life
  • How to Obtain: Defeat the optional boss, Candlemass, The Living Rite.

Act 2 & Act 5 Permanent Buffs

Here are the permanent buffs you can acquire in Act 2 and Act 5:

Act 2 Buffs

• Keth - Kabala, Constrictor Queen
  • Reward: +2 Weapon Set Passive Skill Points
  • How to Obtain: Defeat the optional boss, Kabala, Constrictor Queen.
• Valley of the Titans
  • Reward: Choose one of the following (choice can be changed by revisiting the location):
    • +30% Increased Charm Charges
    • +15% Increased Mana Recovery from Flasks
  • How to Obtain: The location is next to the Waypoint. Insert the following two relics:
    • Kabala Clan Relic (dropped by monsters in Keth).
    • Sun Clan Relic (dropped by monsters in The Bone Pits).

Act 5 Buffs

• Deshar - Final Letter
  • Reward: +2 Weapon Set Passive Skill Points
  • How to Obtain: Deliver the Final Letter to Shambrin.
• The Spires of Deshar - Sisters of Garukhan Shrine
  • Reward: +10% Lightning Resistance
  • How to Obtain: Explore the map and click on the shrine.

Act 3 & Act 6 Permanent Buffs

Here are the permanent buffs you can acquire in Act 3 and Act 6:

Act 3 Buffs

• Jungle Ruins - Mighty Silverfist
  • Reward: +2 Weapon Set Passive Skill Points
  • How to Obtain: Defeat the optional boss, Mighty Silverfist.
• The Azak Bog - Ignagduk, The Bog Witch
  • Normal Reward: +30 Spirit
  • Cruel Reward: +40 Spirit
  • How to Obtain: Defeat the optional boss, Ignagduk, The Bog Witch.
• The Venom Crypts - Venom Draught
  • Normal Reward (Choose 1, choice is permanent):
    • +25% Increased Stun Threshold
    • +30% Increased Elemental Ailment Threshold
    • +25% Increased Mana Regeneration Rate
  • Cruel Reward (Choose 1, choice is permanent):
    • +10% Chaos Resistance
    • +5 to All Attributes
    • +15% Reduced Slowing Potency Debuffs
  • How to Obtain: Deliver the Venom Vial to Servi.
• Jiquani’s Machinarium - Blackjaw, the Remnant
  • Reward: +10% Fire Resistance
  • How to Obtain: Defeat the optional boss, Blackjaw, the Remnant.
  • Additional Requirement: Use a Small Soul Core to unlock the boss room. The icon is located on the Underground Map.

Act 6 Buffs

• Aggorat - Blood Sacrifice
  • Reward: +2 Weapon Set Passive Skill Points
  • How to Obtain:
    • Find the Sacrificial Heart as a monster drop in Aggorat.
    • Locate the Altar to sacrifice the Heart.
