How Questing Changes in WoW Forever

Questing is one of the core parts of WoW Forever.

Rather than simply repeating the original World of Warcraft leveling path, Blizzard is expanding the Eastern Kingdoms and Kalimdor with new stories, characters, and regions.

More than 1,000 new quests are being added across the level 1-60 journey. New content is not limited to the four major new regions either: existing zones such as the Wetlands and Azshara receive additional quests, with developers saying players should begin encountering new material from around level 5.

Players targeting a specific storyline can use WoW Forever Questline Completion.

More Than 1,000 New Quests

Developers have compared Forever's new quest volume with original World of Warcraft, which contained roughly 3,000-3,500 quests.

Adding around another thousand represents a substantial expansion of the original leveling world.

These quests serve several purposes:

  • expanding familiar zones;

  • opening completely new regions;

  • continuing unfinished stories;

  • connecting the world with dungeons;

  • progressing reputations;

  • creating alternative leveling routes;

  • giving alts different journeys.

Forever therefore changes the entire path through Azeroth rather than focusing only on level 60 content.

New Content Starts Early

Players do not need to reach the endgame before seeing something new.

Developers have said that new quest content begins appearing from around level 5, while the four major new regions contain between dozens and more than a hundred quests each.

This gives returning players opportunities to encounter unfamiliar content even on characters using familiar classes and factions.

Players primarily interested in reaching maximum level can use WoW Forever 1-60 Leveling.

How to Choose Quests While Leveling

You do not need to complete every available objective.

For efficient progression, prioritize quests that:

  • match your current level;

  • are located near one another;

  • continue important quest chains;

  • unlock useful zones;

  • lead into dungeons;

  • progress relevant reputations;

  • offer useful equipment;

  • overlap with other character goals.

Collecting several objectives from the same quest hub before leaving can reduce travel time and improve overall leveling efficiency.

Main Storylines and Side Quests

Not every quest serves the same purpose.

Major chains develop the central story of a region, while side quests can provide additional stories, rewards, reputation, or character development.

Players focused on experiencing a zone should prioritize its major storylines.

Players focused on leveling speed can combine those chains with nearby side objectives when several quests can be completed along the same route.

For broader regional progress, Dving also offers WoW Forever Zone Completion.

Zephras Isle - Skyborne Levels 1-12

Zephras Isle is the dedicated starting zone for the new Skyborne race and covers approximately levels 1-12.

Its questline introduces the race, its background, faction choice, and the first steps of character progression before the player enters wider Azeroth.

Players who want to continue directly toward maximum level can use Skyborne 1-60 Leveling.

Riverglades - More Than 150 Quests

Riverglades is one of Forever's largest completely new questing regions.

The zone covers much of the mid-level journey and contains more than 150 new quests focused on frontier settlements, trade routes, humans, orcs, ogres, and other inhabitants.

Developers specifically describe it as a story about living in Azeroth rather than another immediate mission to save the entire world.

Players targeting the zone can use Riverglades Completion.

Shen'Dralas and Familiar Stories

Shen'Dralas sits between Mulgore and Desolace and expands the stories of the Shen'dralar, Eldre'Thalas, Dire Maul, and local centaur tribes.

Its quest design also sends players back into familiar content, including Maraudon and Razorfen Downs.

This reflects one of Forever's main design ideas: new stories can make old locations relevant again instead of existing in complete isolation.

Players targeting the region can use Shen'Dralas Completion.

Mount Hyjal at Level 60

Mount Hyjal is designed as level 60 world content.

Its questlines continue the story after Archimonde's defeat and explore the recovery of the region, Darkwhisper Gorge, and new threats facing Hyjal.

At this point, quests become part of post-leveling character progression rather than simply experience toward the cap.

Players targeting the region can use Mount Hyjal Completion.

Existing Zones Get New Quests Too

The four new regions are not the only areas receiving new content.

Developers have specifically mentioned significant additions to the Wetlands and Azshara.

This means a character can encounter unfamiliar quests without exclusively following the brand-new zone route.

For alt leveling, this creates more opportunities to choose different paths through the same world.

Questlines and Dungeons

Some storylines naturally connect with dungeon content.

Forever adds nine new dungeons across different level ranges, allowing dungeon quests to become part of progression throughout much of the 1-60 journey.

Collecting relevant dungeon quests before entering can allow one run to provide:

  • experience;

  • several quest completions;

  • story progression;

  • quest rewards;

  • opportunities for equipment upgrades.

Players targeting the new instances can use WoW Forever All Dungeons.

Should You Repeat a Dungeon for Quests?

If the relevant quest is completed in one run, there is usually no need to keep repeating the instance purely for that storyline.

Additional runs make more sense when you also need:

  • equipment;

  • another specific objective;

  • profession recipes;

  • Legacy Challenges;

  • additional experience.

Once those goals are no longer useful, open-world questing may provide better progression.

Quests and Reputation

Faction progression can also be directly connected to questing.

Some chains award reputation while introducing a faction and its story. Later reputation levels can unlock additional rewards or activities.

This creates efficient progression loops such as:

quest → experience → reputation → reward → Legacy progress.

Players targeting a faction directly can use WoW Forever Reputation Boost.

Questing and the Legacy System

The Legacy System is designed to make repeated journeys through Azeroth more rewarding.

Legacy Challenges cover class leveling, professions, exploration, reputations, PvP, dungeons, and raids. Normal questing can therefore contribute toward several Legacy goals naturally.

One questing route can potentially provide:

  • character levels;

  • zone progress;

  • reputation;

  • profession materials;

  • dungeon access;

  • Legacy Challenge progress.

Players focusing on this system can use Legacy Challenges.

Do You Need to Complete Every Quest on One Character?

No.

Forever is specifically designed to make repeated leveling journeys meaningful, and its expanded quest pool gives players more freedom to distribute content across several characters.

One character might complete Riverglades, while another takes a different route through updated Classic zones.

This helps players see more of Forever without forcing every alt through exactly the same path.

When Should You Leave a Zone?

Moving on usually makes sense when:

  • most appropriate quests are complete;

  • remaining objectives require excessive travel;

  • quests have become too low level;

  • another zone offers better progression;

  • the main storyline has ended;

  • the reputation or reward you needed is complete.

You do not need 100% completion when leveling speed is the main goal.

Zone completion is a different objective and may justify staying longer to finish remaining storylines.

Is It Worth Reading Quest Text?

You can level without reading every dialogue box, but Forever puts significant emphasis on Azeroth's local stories.

Developers have discussed the memorable nature of original World of Warcraft quests and their focus on stories grounded in the world itself. The new quests are being created with that approach in mind.

Skipping every story will not prevent progression, but it removes much of what distinguishes new areas such as Riverglades and Shen'Dralas from a simple experience route.

Combining Questing and Professions

Gathering professions fit naturally into open-world questing.

While moving between objectives, characters can also:

  • mine ore;

  • gather herbs;

  • skin eligible creatures;

  • collect cloth;

  • find profession materials;

  • unlock profession progression.

This can reduce the need to return to lower-level zones later purely for materials.

Players developing trade skills can use WoW Forever Profession Leveling.

How to Complete Questlines Faster

Several simple habits reduce unnecessary travel:

  1. collect all quests from a hub before leaving;

  2. group nearby objectives together;

  3. check whether a chain leads into a dungeon;

  4. avoid returning after every single objective when more are nearby;

  5. keep enough inventory space;

  6. use available travel routes;

  7. move on when the current zone stops providing efficient progression.

The shortest route is not always the best one if it skips an important storyline, reputation, or valuable reward.

Questing at Level 60

Questing continues after reaching the level cap.

Mount Hyjal is already confirmed as a level 60 region with new quests, reputations, solo content, and group objectives.

Forever's roadmap also includes additional quests and another playable area in spring 2027.

Quest progression will therefore continue expanding after the initial 1-60 journey.

How Forever Can Keep Expanding Azeroth

Forever does not need to move players to a completely separate continent every time new content arrives.

The developers can return to unfinished parts of original Azeroth, create new questlines, and expand stories that previously had little room to develop.

The first examples already include:

  • Mount Hyjal;

  • Shen'Dralas;

  • Riverglades;

  • Zephras Isle;

  • the Wetlands;

  • Azshara.

Questing is therefore one of the main tools Blizzard can use to keep Forever's version of Azeroth developing over time.

Which Dving Option Fits Your Questing Goal?

Choose Questline Completion when you need a specific storyline completed.

Choose Zone Completion when your goal is broader progress through an entire region.

Choose WoW Forever 1-60 Leveling when questing is primarily part of taking a new character to maximum level.

This keeps story completion, regional progress, and full character leveling as separate goals depending on what you actually need.
