All WoW Midnight Dungeons: Entrances, Bosses and Rewards
Midnight launched with eight dungeons. Patch 12.1 added Altar of Fangs, bringing the expansion's current overview to nine. Season 2 Mythic+ still uses an eight-dungeon pool: five Midnight dungeons and three returning from older expansions. Those are different lists, and confusing them leads to mistakes when planning runs or rewards.
This guide was checked on October 14, 2026 for Season 2 in the context of patch 12.1.5. It covers locations, major opponents, practical encounter priorities and rewards. The notes prepare you for learning each dungeon; they are not a route for pushing the highest keys. For a first run, understanding dangerous actions and group responsibilities matters more than immediately raising the difficulty.
Dungeon list and locations
Magister's Terrace is on the Isle of Quel'Danas, Murder Row is in Silvermoon, and Windrunner Spire is in Eversong Woods. They should not all be described as dungeons on the same island. Coordinates below belong to the named zone; where guide points disagree, use the dungeon entrance marker on the in-game map.
Dungeon | Location | Boss encounters |
Magister's Terrace | Isle of Quel'Danas | 4 |
Murder Row | Silvermoon City | 4 |
Windrunner Spire | Eversong Woods | 4 |
The Blinding Vale | Harandar | 4 |
Nexus Point Xenas | Voidstorm | 3 |
Voidscar Arena | Voidstorm | 3 |
Den of Nalorakk | Zul'Aman | 3 |
Maisara Caverns | Zul'Aman | 3 |
Altar of Fangs | Coiled Isle, Vaults of Atal'Utek | 3 |

Normal dungeons unlock through the associated zone quest or the required character level. There is not one shared threshold for every entrance. At maximum level, also check the Group Finder's current Heroic queue requirements. An old item-level requirement should not be carried into a new season.
Dungeons of the elven lands
Magister's Terrace
Look for the entrance on the Isle of Quel'Danas near 63.9, 15.8. The Midnight version differs from the similarly named Burning Crusade dungeon. Its four opponents are Arcanotron Custos, Seranel Sunlash, Gemellus and Degentrius. It is outside the Season 2 keystone pool and remains available on Normal.
During Arcanotron's refueling, the group intercepts energy orbs while watching the stacking harmful effect. The tank should move the boss away from hazardous ground, and the healer should prepare for party damage. A story about the old dungeon is not a substitute for the current encounter guide.
Murder Row
Murder Row is in Silvermoon City, with an entrance near 57.0, 60.9. Its bosses are Kystia Manaheart, Zaen Bladesorrow, Xathuux the Annihilator and Lithiel Cinderfury. It is one of the five Midnight locations in Season 2 Mythic+.
Against Xathuux, destroy the thrown axe quickly; the targeted player helps position it near the boss. Against Lithiel, interrupt dangerous casts and switch to the summoned creature. Avoid spending every stop on the same enemy. An agreed interrupt order reduces the number of emergencies the healer has to manage.
Windrunner Spire
The entrance is on the western coast of Eversong Woods near 35.2, 78.4. Four encounters include Emberdawn, the Derelict Duo of Kalis and Latch, Commander Kroluk and The Restless Heart. Kalis is not the only participant in the second encounter. The dungeon is outside the Season 2 keystone pool.
Against Emberdawn, place hazards near the edge while preserving room to move, and avoid the frontal breath. Balance the duo's health so both opponents die together. Watching position and action order is more useful than expecting healing to compensate for every mistake.
Harandar's dungeon
The Blinding Vale
The entrance is near 26.4, 78.1 in Harandar. The dungeon has four encounters and is included in Season 2. Opponents include Ikuzz the Light Hunter, Lightwarden Ruia and Ziekket. Keeping space available and watching enemy movement are important throughout the run.
Avoid roots against Ikuzz. If they trap you, help destroy them or use an appropriate root-breaking ability. When pursued, keep your distance and guide the boss through roots to clear the arena. Stay away from edges during knockbacks. Before large enemy groups, agree who will stop the dangerous caster.
Voidstorm dungeons
Nexus Point Xenas
Look for the entrance near 65.0, 61.7. The three encounters are Chief Corewright Kasreth, Corewarden Nysarra and Lothraxion. In Season 2, the dungeon is available on Normal rather than in the current Mythic+ pool.
Do not cross active energy lines against Kasreth, and move away from the initial explosion. Kill Nysarra's summoned enemies quickly before the following phase; the healer should prepare for sustained party damage. Preserve a safe movement path instead of only choosing the best position for damage at that instant.
Voidscar Arena
Voidscar Arena is in Voidstorm and belongs to the Season 2 pool. Its bosses are Taz'Rah, Atroxus and Charonus. Check the entrance marker on the map for the precise position: overview guides give different points within the zone.
Dodge dangerous orbs against Taz'Rah. Against Atroxus, leave poison areas, avoid the frontal breath and kill the summoned enemy quickly. If the team has a poison dispel, agree who will provide it. Prioritizing the extra target matters more than continuously hitting the boss while the party suffers increasing damage.
Zul'Aman dungeons
Den of Nalorakk
The entrance is near 29.7, 84.9 in Zul'Aman. Its three opponents are The Hoardmonger, Sentinel of Winter and Nalorakk. The Den belongs to Season 2 Mythic+. Encounters require arena tasks rather than simply finishing another boss.
Spread out to intercept growing mushrooms against The Hoardmonger, while accounting for stacking poison. Interrupt the enemies spawned by Sentinel of Winter. Against Nalorakk, prevent shades from reaching the protected ally. Assign responsibilities before the mechanic begins so several players do not all try to cover the same task.
Maisara Caverns
The entrance is near 43.0, 39.5 in Zul'Aman. The three encounters are Muro'jin and Nekraxx, Vordaza, and Rak'tul. Rak'tul and Vessel of Souls are not separate bosses: the final opponent's full English name is Rak'tul, Vessel of Souls. Maisara is outside the Season 2 Mythic+ pool.
Defeat the first pair together. Against Vordaza, manage the pursuing ghosts rather than trying to solve their mechanic through ordinary attacks. Save strong abilities to break the boss's shield quickly. Planning these events does not establish that Maisara is objectively the hardest dungeon for every team and difficulty.
The new Season 2 dungeon
Altar of Fangs
Added in 12.1, Altar of Fangs is in the Vaults of Atal'Utek on the Coiled Isle. It supplements the eight launch dungeons. Its three bosses are Rav'i, The Writhing Coil and Zul'jan, and it participates in Season 2 Mythic+.
Coordinate interrupts against The Writhing Coil, then avoid its charge and following frontal attack. Against Zul'jan, assign ritual-beam interceptions and the way to clear the stacking effect ahead of time. Changing duties mid-mechanic can leave a beam unattended. A short discussion before combat can save more time than a hurried repeat attempt.
Season 2 Mythic+ rotation
The current pool consists of Altar of Fangs, Murder Row, Den of Nalorakk, The Blinding Vale, Voidscar Arena, Kings' Rest, Temple of Sethraliss and Ruby Life Pools. The final three return from Battle for Azeroth and Dragonflight. The four-new, four-returning description concerns Season 1 and does not describe this pool.
Heroic, Mythic 0 and Mythic+ use the seasonal rotation. Normal allows you to explore Midnight dungeons outside the current keys. Mythic 0 has no keystone timer, while Mythic+ adds a time limit and seasonal affixes. Having no timer does not imply that every difficulty has identical mechanics and damage.
The official schedule changed Mythic 0 to a daily reset once Season 2 Mythic+ opened. This concerns loot eligibility, not a claim that a player can enter a dungeon only once each day. The earlier weekly setting from the period before keys opened is not the October rule.
For returning dungeons, use the golden Timeways portal in Silvermoon near 53.3, 66.1. It leads to seasonal destinations rather than merely sending you along the ordinary route to the old Caverns of Time. Check the destination name before entering.
Rewards and the Great Vault

The following are base Season 2 reward levels before further item upgrades. End-of-run loot and the weekly selection are different rewards. A suitable item is not guaranteed to every player on every attempt, and a higher item level does not make every trinket best for every specialization.
Difficulty | End-of-run item level | Weekly reward |
Maximum-level Normal | 259 | Does not unlock the dungeon row |
Heroic | 276 | Counts toward Vault objectives |
Mythic 0 | 292 | 302 |
Mythic+ 2-3 | 295 | 305 |
Mythic+ 4 | 298 | 308 |
Mythic+ 5 | 302 | 308 |
Mythic+ 6 | 305 | 311 |
Mythic+ 7 | 305 | 315 |
Mythic+ 8-9 | 308 | 315 |
Mythic+ 10 and higher | 311 | 318 |
The Vault's dungeon choices unlock after 1, 4 and 8 eligible completions. That expands the selection; it does not award three items simultaneously. Plan around the available rewards and the items you need rather than only the total number of runs.
Dungeon loot includes weapons, armor and trinkets with different purposes. Nysarra, for example, can drop Whisper of the Duskwraith, while The Hoardmonger can drop Pilfered Precious Band. A boss table establishes the source, not universal superiority. Check effects, stats and compatibility with the character's other equipment.
Preparing for your first run

Choose a difficulty suited to the group's experience. Check access, agree interrupts and dispels, and identify dangerous additional targets before entering. Plan major defensives for known events while retaining a way to help when something goes wrong.
After a run, identify the actual cause of deaths: a missed cast, poor position, late defensive or an unhandled mechanic. One successful attempt does not establish that the same route works at every keystone level. Raise difficulty once the group handles its basic responsibilities consistently.
Frequently asked questions
How many dungeons does Midnight have?
Eight launched with the expansion and a ninth, Altar of Fangs, arrived in 12.1. Mythic+ still uses eight seasonal dungeons, which form a separate list.
Can I visit a dungeon outside the keystone pool?
Midnight dungeons outside the seasonal rotation remain available on Normal. A normal entrance does not establish that a current-season keystone exists.
Which dungeon is hardest?
There is no universal answer. Difficulty depends on mode, key level, composition, weekly affixes and knowledge of mechanics.
Do rewards depend on completion or timing?
Timing matters for Mythic+ progression and seasonal goals. Assess run loot and Vault rewards separately; Normal and Mythic 0 do not use the keystone timer.
