Leveling Fishing 1–600
Efficient Leveling Strategy
You can level Fishing from 1 to 600 by casting in any water that allows fishing. Outside Pandaria, you'll catch junk if your skill is too low for that zone. However, in Pandaria, you’ll catch Golden Carp from level 1, making it the most rewarding location to fish.
If you can reach Pandaria, it's ideal to fish there all the way to 600. Golden Carp remains more valuable than low-level fish. If you’re stuck outside, you can still fish in zones like Stormwind or Orgrimmar to reach max level.
To catch useful fish while leveling:
Start in main cities
Move to Outland at skill 300
Northrend at 375
Cataclysm zones at 450
Pandaria at 525
Nat Pagle, Angler Extreme
At level 225, complete the quest Nat Pagle, Angler Extreme for Nat’s Lucky Fishing Pole, a top-tier fishing rod early on.
