WoW Season 1 Raids Midnight FAQ
What rewards are still available from Season 1 raids?
Season 1 raids still offer Mythic raid mounts, Glory achievements, armor and weapon transmogs, and housing decor. These rewards remain collectible even after the raid tier is no longer relevant for current gearing.
Can I still earn Season 1 Ahead of the Curve or Cutting Edge?
No. Season 1 Ahead of the Curve and Cutting Edge stopped being awarded when Season 2 began. Clearing the old raid now cannot restore those expired seasonal achievements.
Are Season 1 raids still worth running for gear?
Their main value is now in permanent collectibles rather than character gearing. Current raid content provides the stronger progression path, while Season 1 raids are better suited for mounts, achievements, transmog, and housing rewards.
Do Season 1 raid runs interfere with Season 2 progression?
No. Season 1 raid lockouts are separate from Season 2 raid progression, allowing you to work on current content while also farming older raids for collectibles.
Return to Season 1 Raids for Collectible Rewards
WoW Season 1 raids are no longer primarily about character gearing, but they still contain rewards that remain valuable after the season changes. Mythic mounts, Glory achievements, transmog appearances, weapons, and housing decor continue to give players reasons to revisit these encounters. Stronger Season 2 gear also makes older raid content more accessible than it was during progression. The service is therefore aimed at collection goals rather than replacing your current gearing route.
Get Mythic Raid Mounts Before Their Drop Rate Changes
Mythic raid mounts are among the strongest reasons to return to Season 1 content. They remain guaranteed from their qualifying Mythic kills for the rest of Midnight, while their drop rate is expected to fall to roughly 1% after the expansion ends. This gives mount collectors a clear reason to target these bosses before the reward becomes a much longer farm. The mounts remain obtainable later, but the acquisition path becomes significantly less direct.
Complete Glory Achievements Without a Tier Deadline
Season 1 Glory meta-achievements remain available even after the raid tier has ended. These objectives usually require encounter-specific mechanics rather than ordinary boss kills, so achievement-focused runs are organized differently from standard clears. Completing them can unlock permanent collection rewards and fill gaps in your achievement progress. They remain a useful target even when the raid itself no longer matters for current gear progression.
Collect Season 1 Transmog Sets and Weapons
Older raid appearances remain relevant long after their item levels are outdated. Season 1 raids contain armor sets, weapons, and other visual rewards that can only come from their own loot pools. Repeated clears allow you to work on missing appearances and finish transmog collections across multiple characters. For collection-focused players, this gives the raids long-term value beyond their original progression purpose.
Add Animated Housing Decor to Your Collection
Season 1 raids also provide animated housing decor tied to their encounters. These rewards create another reason to revisit the raids once gearing is no longer the main objective. Housing collectors can target raid trophies alongside mounts, transmog, and achievements instead of treating old content as obsolete. The value comes from permanent collectibles rather than current item level.
Keep Season 1 Collection Runs Separate from Season 2 Progress
Season 1 raid lockouts are separate from your Season 2 raid progression. This means you can continue working on current content while using older raids for mounts, achievements, transmog, and housing rewards. The two goals do not need to compete for the same raid progression path. This makes legacy Season 1 runs easier to fit around your current character development.
Know Which Season 1 Rewards Are No Longer Available
Ahead of the Curve and Cutting Edge rewards tied to Season 1 bosses stopped being obtainable when Season 2 began. Completing those encounters now cannot restore the expired seasonal achievements. Mythic mounts, Glory achievements, transmog, and housing decor are unaffected and remain available. This page is therefore focused only on rewards that can still legitimately be earned from Season 1 raid content.
