Exploring the Endgame in Last Epoch: Key Systems and Strategies
Welcome to the Last Epoch Endgame Overview
In Last Epoch, there are three main Endgame activities: Dungeons, Arena, and the Monolith of Fate. As a new player, it can be challenging to choose which activity is right for you. To help you get started, here’s a quick rundown of each of these Endgame options!
Monolith of Fate
Fairly early in the campaign, players will reach a central hub called The End of Time. Upon reaching this point, the Monolith of Fate becomes available by taking a portal on the east side. However, enemies start at level 58, so it may be wise to continue progressing through the campaign until you're strong enough to tackle the first Timeline.
Timelines are islands within the Monolith of Fate, each with its own web. You create this web by completing Echoes and expanding outward from the starting hub, collecting Stability and rewards as you progress.

Timeline quests can be completed once enough Stability is accumulated from completed Echoes. The third Timeline quest is the Timeline Boss, and defeating it unlocks the next Timeline. When entering the Monolith for the first time, players only have access to one Timeline. Completing that Timeline (by finishing the Echoes and killing the Timeline-specific Boss) will open up new Timelines. Each Timeline Boss offers its own Uniques and Blessings as rewards for defeating it!
Completing the top three level 90 Timelines will unlock empowered versions of all 10 Timelines. Empowered Timelines scale infinitely with Corruption, allowing you to test the true limits of your build while enjoying better drop rates and more experience as you progress. To increase Corruption, you need to complete Echoes and expand your web until you encounter and defeat Orobyss.

Dungeons
In this endgame overview, we take a look at the three Dungeons in Last Epoch: The Lightless Arbor, The Temporal Sanctum, and The Soulfire Bastion. Each Dungeon has two floors to complete before facing the final Dungeon Boss, along with a unique mechanic exclusive to that Dungeon. However, before entering any Dungeon, you’ll need to find the corresponding Dungeon Key.
Each floor in these Dungeons is like a maze, with two doors that lead to different options. Choosing a door increases both the difficulty and the rewards that you’ll encounter if you proceed through it. To navigate through these mazes, you’ll need to utilize the unique mechanic of each Dungeon. For example, in The Temporal Sanctum, you can time travel between the Divine and Ruined Eras. Switching between them opens and closes doors, which allows you to progress through the map. After completing both floors, the final door leads you to the Dungeon Boss, and upon defeating it, you gain access to the Dungeon’s unique rewards.
Difficulty Selection is available when entering a Dungeon.
To enter a Dungeon, you need the corresponding Key:
- Lightless Arbor Key
- Soulfire Bastion Key
- Temporal Sanctum Key
These keys can drop during the campaign or through other endgame systems.
The Lightless Arbor is recommended if you have a lot of gold to spend.
The Soulfire Bastion is perfect for earning Currency, which you can then gamble with the Soul Gambler for a chance at high-quality items.
The Temporal Sanctum is ideal for crafting Legendaries, especially if you have a Unique item with Legendary Potential and an Exalted item that you want to combine.

The Endless Arena and the Arena of Champions (AoC) are both located in Champions Gate. Each arena can be accessed with one of two available Arena Keys:
- Arena Key: Starts the run from Wave 0 in the Endless Arena or from Tier 1-4 in the Arena of Champions.
- Arena Key of Memory: Starts from Wave 100 or half of your previous run, whichever is higher. This key does not offer any additional functionality for the Arena of Champions.
While you won’t find great loot in the Endless Arena, the Arena of Champions offers the chance to farm some valuable Uniques from the Bosses! The Endless Arena serves as the primary competitive mode, with rankings based on the number of waves you complete without dying. Aim to make a name for yourself by reaching higher waves than other players and securing your spot on the ladder for eternity!
