🌀 What Are Azmerian Wisps?
Azmerian Wisps are glowing spirit orbs tied to Azmeri animal totems. You’ll encounter them in campaign zones and endgame maps. Once approached:
-
They speed up if you get too close.
-
They slow down if you stay back.
-
They vanish if you let them get too far away.
Stay close — the Wisp leads to a powerful enemy carrying enhanced loot.
You’ll first meet the Azmerian Spirit in Act 1, in the Grelwood area. A new NPC named Delwyn will also appear, tracking the Spirit across Wraeclast. In endgame, the Wisps become part of the Atlas content.
🐾 Types of Wisps and Their Effects

Great Bear | +Life, +Stun Chance | Spectral Bear Slam |
Winter Owl | Cold Damage, Energy Shield, Vortex on Death | Tornado |
Wild Cat | Critical Chance, Evasion | Summons Feline Spirits |
Sacred Fox | Evolves monsters (Normal → Magic → Rare → Boss) | Creates Unique Possessed Boss |
Possessed enemies grow stronger and drop better loot, including Talismans.
🎁 Wisp Rewards – Talismans
Wisp-possessed enemies drop Talismans, a new item type in PoE 2. Talismans are slotted into specific gear and provide unique bonuses. They are different from Runes and Soul Cores and cannot be found anywhere else except through the Wisp system.
🗺️ Atlas Synergy and the Azmeri Ranges Map
Players can invest in Azmerian mechanics via the Atlas Passive Tree, unlocking new Wisp-focused Notables. You’ll also encounter Precursor Tablets which can be inserted into Towers to enhance surrounding maps — great for Wisp farming.
The new endgame map Azmeri Ranges is home to many Wisps and corrupted bosses empowered by spirit possession. This map guarantees multiple Wisps and elite encounters.
